Chapter 3: The talk

Ayana’s POV:

I come out of the bathroom and see my parents sitting on the bed with a very nervous expression. I go to my mom and hug her tightly. I was about to s**t my pants in fear. I kept thinking what is wrong with me.

After a very long hug, I sat down and asked them “What is happening with me? Am I going crazy? I hear someone talking to me in my head. And apparently it has a name too. Kyra. I think I am totally going crazy.”

My dad with a weird happiness said “Kyra, that’s a beautiful name. I am sorry honey, I know that there is a lot going on in your mind. We never thought this day would ever come. But I guess, now it’s time for you to know a little secret about your family.”

Ayana- “Dad, what do you mean?” I was so confused.

Mom- “Ayana baby, I don’t know how to start. But we need to tell you everything. And I am sorry, we should I have told you before.”

Ayana- “Mom dad you’re scaring me. What is going on?”

Mom- “Honey, we are not your real parents. I am your aunt. Your birth mother was my sister.”

Ayana- “What? What are you saying? Maa, please don’t say this..” I said while freaking out and unconsciously I started crying.

Dad- “Honey, please hear us out. You were only 5 months old when your parents died. Your father, Samuel was a werewolf.”

I interrupted, “Werewolf? You’re joking. How is that possible. Am I not dreaming?”

Mom- “No my baby, your parents were very loving and the nicest people I have ever met. Your father was not just a werewolf, he was the Alpha of one of the most strongest pack in the world. The Crescent Moon pack.”

They continued telling me about what packs and alphas and werewolves are as I had no idea and had so many questions. After the basic details they started telling me more about my parents.

Ayana- “What happened to my parents?

Dad- “They were killed by some rougues. We still have no idea to why and how. You mum, Kiara, she was a human, just like and me and your mom. Because Samuel was a werewolf and your mom a human we were hoping that you’ll be a human too. But you do have that part of your father.” He smiled and then continued “ Your mum and dad, they were in love, your dad chose her as his chosen mate” and then he gave me a little detail about what mates are and how the mate bond works.

My mom continued “ Your father was the Alpha so he couldn’t leave his pack just like that so your mom went and joined the pack but some of the pack members didn’t like that they had a human Luna. They believed that this will make their pack a weak pack. That this will be the downfall of the pack. Even though your mom handled her responsibilities towards the pack very nicely.” A tear fell from her eyes and I held her hand.

She continued “ That day, when they died, they both left the pack grounds to spend some time together, to go out on a date. They dropped you with us before leaving and in about 3 hours we got a call that they were found dead a little far away from the pack grounds.” She started crying.

After calming down a little she continued “ We didn’t tell anyone that you were alive, everyone thought that you were with them and who ever did this, got you as well. It’s been years, but they still haven’t gotten justice.”

This was a lot of information for me to digest. I was lost in my thoughts when I heard the voice in my head again “It will all make sense.” This time, I didn’t jump. I don’t know why, I felt a connection with this voice in my head, and I could just trust her without even trying.
