Deal With the Devil

Korra concentrated all her energy on absorbing the mana around her. Her internal organs were slowly regenerating. However, all the injuries that were on her body was mostly healed. As Korra circulated the mana in her body, somebody walked in. She felt the prescence of the individual. Without opening her eyes, she spoke out. "Asta? Did I not tell you not to interrupt me?" Korra said in a stern tone. "Ye-yes. But, you told me to inform you when Rufus was ready to meet you" "Is he?" "Yes, Lady Korra" Heaving a huge sigh which released a bit of steam, Korra got up from the beautiful floor mat. Surprisingly, most of the things in the master tent was barely damaged. There were a few scorch marks though. Korra walked towards a large plush couch and sank into it.  "Bring him in" "Yes" Asta walked out. A few minutes later, she walked in with Rufus. His shoulder was bandaged up to stop the bleeding since his arm was torn off by Korra. He had also tied a white cloth around the eye socket. He wasn't healed but he was at least better than before. By this time, it was the c***k of dawn. It was almost morning. Korra stared at Rufus. Rufus shuffled nervously. After a while, he gathered up courage and sat on the seat opposite of Korra. Korra corked her brow and then laughed. "You've got some serious balls! Are you not afraid of me?" She then narrowed her eyes. "Who told you to sit?" She asked in a chilly tone. Rufus scrambled to get up. "Er-erm... I am really sorry Madam, I mean Miss Korra" Korra sighed. "Just call me Lady Korra." "Yes, Lady Korra" Rufus said as he bowed slightly. "Yeah.. yeah... Whatever, let's get down to business!" "Of course" Rufus said. Even though he was afraid of Korra, he was still a magnificent business man. He knew how to handle difficult customers to some extent. Of course Korra was nothing like those customers. Even so, it allowed him to keep his cool. "I am sure you know I did not help you for free. Your life is now mine. From now you have no desire of your own, do you understand?" Rufus stood still. He was furious and did not want to admit defeat. Boom! Suddenly a huge pressure barred down on him. He fell to one knee. Korra's irises glittered with a bright golden colour.  "You want to defy me?" Rufus clenched his teeth. He had to concede. However, before he could admit defeat, the pressure disappeared.  He looked at Korra in surprise. "Well, I am not going to force you to serve me. If you don't want to, you can simply leave" "What?" Rufus blurted out in surprise. "Yes. Just know that if you leave now, you will lose a great opportunity!" "Don't f**k with me. What opportunity could a kid like you give me?" Before Rufus could hold himself back he had already said this. At this moment he was sure he was already dead. However Korra simply chuckled. "Well, I understand your skepticism. It makes sense. But... Aren't you curious how a 13 year old child is this strong? Don't you think if I can make myself like this, I encountered a grand opportunity?" Rufus flinched. His greed started to operate and take over his reasoning. 'This girl... She is right. There has never been a case where a child is this strong. Surely she came upon a grand opportunity, if I can get her to share it with me...... I will surely rise in the ranks' "Fine... But what do you want from me?" Korra smirked. 'Foolish man. He took the bait." "From now one, you will serve only me. I don't need anything much. Just that, every resource you gain from now will be mine. Anything I need has to be provided by you." Rufus' mouth opened. "What? Why would I agree to these terms? This is bullshit!" Korra laughed. "What if I tell you I can make you one of the pillars of the Hovering Sands Merchant Guild within five years. Would that make you agree?" Rufus raised a brow skeptically. "And how are you going to do that?" "By increasing your level faster! After all, aren't the ranks of the pillars of the Hovering Sands Merchant Guild mainly decided by pure power. Of course I know that they do consider business skill and competence." Rufus burst out laughing. "You truly are a child. Do you think it is soo easy to increase your level?" Korra shook her head sadly.  "Look how ignorant you are. I have a method that allows you to increase your level just by sitting at one place. I can also give you heaven defying skills that can even transcend your class restrictions" Rufus frowned. He didn't believe any of this one bit. It was total ludicrous to him. "I understand if you don't believe me. Don't worry, there's proof for you" Korra turned towards the door and shouted. "Asta!" Asta quickly walked in. "Yes? Lady Korra" "Open your stats window" She quickly opened it without question. "Make it visible so we can all see" Korra added.  Asta raised a brow but still complied without asking questions. It was a huge unwritten taboo to show your stats window to others. However Asta did it without question. This surprised Rufus. "Okay. I want you to sit down and cultivate" "Right here?" Asta asked as she stole a glance at Rufus. "Don't worry. I know I told you to keep this a secret but he is the reason I am asking you to do this" Asta nodded her head and sat crossed legged. Her stat window floated in the air. She begun to cultivate. Suddenly the mana in the air started to pour inside her body. "What exactly am I supposed to be looking for?" Rufus asked skeptically. "Just pay attention to her exp" Rufus watched Asta's exp carefully. About thirty minutes later... The atmosphere was tense. Rufus stared into thin air without noticing that his mouth was hanging open. He was shocked to the core. Everything he thought he knew about the world had just been destroyed. He was finding it difficult to process what he had just seen.
