chapter 15

Sams Pov

Today had been a long day. I did not see Hunter at school the rest of the day. I had wondered if our kiss was the reason why he left? Id wondered if he even cared. I think I am starting to feel this mate bond more so now that I am not with Levi. I knew in my heart that I could not be with Hunter though. He is an outcast, the weakest link in our pack. Being the strongest and fastest junior warrior I could not be with that, I would become a laughing stock amongst the warriors.

After school I decided to go to the training arena and do some training as it always cleared my head. I found Misty, another junior warrior. She looked as though she had just started in on warm ups.

“Hey” I called out to her.

“Hey” she said with a smile, “whats up?”

“Nothing really, after warm ups want to do some sparring with me?” I asked.

“Sure, but you know I am going to beat you today!” she said laughing a bit. I laughed as well.

“You wish you could beat me!” I smirked and walked to the changing room so I could get into my work out clothes and begin.

An hour later we had finished out warm ups, before we sparred though we decided to go for a mile run. It took us 20 minutes, but we were also chatting along the run so we were kind of slow. Once we returned to the training arena we went directly to the sparring mats. We shook hands and got into positions. I beat her three times.

“Again!” she demanded as i helped her off the ground the third time.

“Are you sure?” I asked, not wanting to push her to far. She just nodded and got back into stance.

She was getting tired and slowing down so I slowed down to, thats when it hit me. The smell of fresh pine, Hunter was close. I dodge her hit as I inhaled the scent, so sweet and strong. I dodged another hit and went to kick her. She dodged. The smell got closer and as it did I was finding it harder to concentrate. Misty was finally able to pin me. I looked up at her as she smiled down at me, so pround of herself! I rolled my eyes at her and flipped her off of me.

“Thats all for today thank you” I said, we shook hands and both went our separate ways. She walked towards the locker rooms and I went to Hunter. After exchanging a few words we agreed to have dinner. I am not sure if this was a good idea but it sure made Zayda, my wolf happy! She purred in my head the entire time i was changing. I changed into the extra clothes I always kept on hand, it was a Light blue off the shoulder long sleeve shirt the hung just below my butt, with a pair of black leggings and a black belt that rested loosely on my waist. I quickly ran my fingers through my hair, then grabbed my bags and walked out the door.

To my surprise Hunter was standing outside waiting for me. He was looking at the ground and fiddling with his fingers. He was so handsome. If I were to accept him I would need his confidence to rise as well. I wondered why the pack had always been so mean to him. I personally have never had anything against him. I was always just told to hate him, as he did not join our pack until he was ten, but he doesn't remember that and we aren't allowed to bring it up. After a moment of staring at him in awe I continued to walk towards him, he must have picked up my scent because after a few steps his head jolted up and a smile crossed his lips.

“Stop drooling, its not very attractive” I teasingly whispered as i approached. He quickly wiped his mouth, which had not even been open, and bowed his head to me.

“You look beautiful” he said.

“Thank you, What would you like to go for dinner?” I asked walking slightly in front of him to my car, he quickly followed.

“I am okay with what ever sounds good to you”

“How about we go to the little italian place just right outside of the border territory?” I suggested.

He hesitated for a moment before answering, “I suppose that will be alright.” he gave me a half smile.

“Great!” I cheered as I slid into the driver seat of my car.

Hunter slid into his seat and closed his door. We backed out of the parking lot and headed to the restaurant. It was a quiet drive, Hunter seemed deep in thought and i didnt want to disrupt him. He looked very bothered. When we were about to turn into the restaurant parking lot hunter let out a loud yell and clutched his head as if in pain.

“HUNTER! WHATS WRONG?” I screech as I slam on my breaks.

“IT HURTS!” he yelled back at me.

I didnt understand what was going on and he clearly was unable to tell me. I jumped out of my car and ran into the restaurant!

“PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME! MY FRIEND HES HURTING!” i screamed when I had made it past the door, but no one moved. Panic set in. I ran back out to my car to check on Hunter, he was gone!

Ambers pov

I had just gotten a phone call from Anna. she told me about the events of this morning and I let her cry and work through her emotions, I told her we would make Warren pay for his actions towards her. My heart ached for her, and i wished I could be there to wrap my arms around her and be the mother figure I once was to her. To re assure her that she is loved and safe and cared for. The mother I should have been to Hunter instead of sending him away.

She also explained that Hunter was her mate, I was so happy for both of them. However she told me that when she told HUnter the truth he admitted to having another mate. This was strange to me, even being part of the royal wolf blood line I had only ever heard of a few cases where a wolf had two mates and that was mostly when the mates were twins and shares one mate. Anna told me that before she could even finish explaining everything or even answer any questions he might have, Hunter got upset and left her apartment.

With Warren looking for him as well this scared me a bit. Hopefully he had not figured out what Hunter looked like yet. I needed more time to get to Golden Moon to retrieve Hunter. Then I could keep him safe and help him kill Warren. This was my only hope of saving my precious son. Even if he hates me afterwards I have to do this for him!

After I am done on the phone with Anna I begin to look at the calender of events that Josiah and I must attend and which ones he will go to alone. I look desperately for any hole in my schedule and see none. I search for a long period of time before I see it, the alphas meeting! This is an event that alphas, and sometimes there lunas, go to, to discuss pack alliances and form deals and trades and such. I have never gone to one with Josiah as he typically goes by himself, but this year I needed to convince him to let me go with him, as it was exactly where I needed it to be and when! Alpha meeting was next week and being hosted by none other than Golden moon. This would be perfect!
