FORSYTHIA’S POV
Breath hitched in my chest. Draco’s friends had completely surrounded me. I knew that if I tried to run, the punishment would be far more severe than this.
When Draco’s t-shirt was stripped from my body, a series of whistles rang out. Filthy hands reached out to touch me. I provoked him by hurling the shirt as far as I could. I did the same with the trousers.
I felt encased by the dry, scorching air and the palpable anger of the crowd around me. Draco smiled with twisted satisfaction.
"Satisfied now?" I spat.
"You should serve Alpha Makarios when he arrives, Fork!" Jill clapped her hands together, drawing even more attention to the scene.
I turned around, shoving the boys behind me aside. I walked with a steady pace, eyes fixed forward. My throat constricted. Tears spilled over, soaking my cheeks.
The moment I was out of those bastards' sight, I immediately shielded my bare body and ran into the servants' quarters.
I cried as I dressed. A crushing sense of humiliation and shame drowned me. How stupid I was to believe the words of a man who had been obsessed with Jill for years. How naive it was to trust in the love of such monsters.
Men were a pack of hateful, cruel creatures!
"Forsy, hurry up. We must prepare for Alpha Makarios’ visit." Omega Tia, a middle-aged woman, stood at my door. "You..."
"Go, Tia, I know," I snapped, trying to brush away my tears.
"We can't reach their level. You know that. If you could have been Draco’s lover, it would have been a blessing, wouldn't it?" Tia advised, reaching out to touch my cheek. "Or perhaps Alpha Makarios."
"Are you telling me to be a w***e for the most aggressive Alpha in the south?" I glared at her, my rage boiling over. "My God, Tia, that man led a rebellion and killed his own Alpha."
And he was only twenty-five! It was terrifying.
"But the old Alpha was terrible, wasn't he? The fact that Makarios is willing to visit neighboring packs for political diplomacy shows he isn't all bad. You won't be able to do anything to those bastards out there if you remain a mere servant."
Strangely, Tia’s words struck a chord deep within my heart. I had never "truly" considered what I could do to them before. But now, with the seed of revenge was planted, a sense of hatred surged with vivid clarity.
"Anyway, you still shouldn't provoke them," Tia stood up. "You only bring this suffering upon yourself."
It was always my fault. I figured that if they ever ran out of excuses to blame me, they would simply say I shouldn't have existed in the first place.
I picked up the emerald-handled knife from the table. This was the knife my father had given me before he, my mother, and my brother were swept away by a sandstorm. Inside the green sheath was a silver blade capable of killing any werewolf. To protect myself, I strapped on a thigh rig.
Once dressed, I followed Tia outside and obeyed her instructions for the welcoming preparations. Seeing Jill and Draco laughing together broke my heart. I resented this weak, pathetic heart of mine for having truly loved him.
"It’s time!" a beta shouted.
The other servants and I lined up in two rows along the path. From the road, a luxurious black car belonging to the Vanguard pack screeched to a halt. A beta nearby opened the door, and a pair of long legs in pointed shoes stepped onto the ground. Dress slacks, a vest, no tie. His collar was spread open, revealing a tattoo of a snake crawling up his neck.
Alpha Makarios had the most handsome face of any man I had ever known. His features were angular, his brow furrowed in a permanent, angry scowl. His black hair was swept back, with a few stray strands falling over his forehead. Though his appearance was intimidating, his gray eyes were utterly captivating.
Tia’s words echoed temptingly in my head. But the fantasy of Alpha Makarios protecting me was a dream that would never come true. He was a man. Eventually, he would be just like Draco—he would rip my tiny heart to shreds and leave me drowning in misery.
Alpha Makarios shook hands with Alpha Gianis, and they both entered Bloodmoon mansion. No one spared a glance for the small, blonde omega who had just been publicly humiliated.
While Alpha Gianis and Alpha Makarios spoke inside, the rest of the werewolves waited outside. Draco was given the privilege of a chair, and Jill sat daintily on his lap. Jill had no official business at Bloodmoon Mansion; she was only there to play with Draco. That was her privilege.
"Hey, slut," Jill called out. Everyone turned to look at me. She extended her leg. "Come, massage my feet."
I stood rooted to the spot.
"She told you to massage her feet!" Draco hissed.
Two male betas grabbed my shoulders and dragged me to Jill. They kicked the back of my knees, forcing me to collapse onto the ground.
"Rub her feet," Draco threatened.
I couldn't believe this was the same man who had whispered words of love to me yesterday. I lifted my head, meeting Draco’s eyes. "Your father was the one who brought me here. He took care of me after my parents died. Do you really want me to tell him what you’ve done to me?"
Jill burst out laughing. "Are you threatening us with the Alpha?"
"Yes, I am," I smirked.
Jill leaned forward, gripping my chin and pulling me close to whisper, "You are nothing to him but a worthless servant. You’re only here because... Alpha Gianis wanted to atone for accidentally killing your parents."
Fearfully, Draco covered Jill’s mouth. He looked around and kicked me in the face, sending me sprawling to the ground.
But that insult didn't sting nearly as much as Jill’s words. What did she mean? Alpha Gianis killed my parents? Why would he do that?
"Get out!" Draco ordered.
"Lies. Everyone lies," I muttered, standing up. Who was I supposed to believe? Alpha Gianis, or Jill, the girl who bullied me? Surely it was Gianis; he had always been kind to me. He couldn't be the one who killed my parents.
I wandered off aimlessly. Suddenly, a bag of fertilizer caught my eye, tucked behind a planter to hide its presence. Because things had moved so fast, we hadn't finished clearing it away. I grabbed the bag and marched toward Draco and Jill.
"Where are you going with that?" Tia walked alongside me.
"To put it back where it belongs," my voice was cold as ice.
I stood before Draco and Jill. The moment they looked up, I reached in, grabbed a handful of fertilizer, and flung them in the face. I did it repeatedly, ignoring the shouts of protest.
Perhaps Draco would kill me today. But what was a person like me living for anyway? If I had to die, making them look ridiculous on such an important day was a form of happiness.
"Forsy!" Someone pinned my arms, grabbing my neck and shoving me to the ground.
My outburst had alerted the Alphas. The two most powerful men stepped outside. From my position on the ground, I could only see their feet.
"What is going on?" Alpha Gianis asked.
"This omega threw fertilizer at Beta Draco and Beta Jill!" Beta Gil replied, still pinning me down.
"All this noise over that?" Alpha Gianis growled. "Throw her in the dungeon. I will deal with her later."
