CHAPTER 1: A Broken Heart
FORSYTHIA’S POV
Draco dragged me into his room. My stomach churned, making me want to vomit my entire dinner onto the floor. I kept my gaze fixed firmly on the carpeted ground.
"You want to break up with me? Return to your old life?" he asked.
His words carried a heavy weight for me. The isolation of being an orphan… The contempt for being unable to shift… I would be a lonely Forsy once more, with no one to protect me.
"I am always the giver," Draco slammed the door shut. "You are always the taker."
I flinched. He marched toward me with predatory speed. His large hands cupped my cheeks, and he leaned down, sucking the flesh of my neck. Suddenly, I forgot how to breathe. I froze like a statue.
We had been together for over a month. He was all I had! What should I say?
He reached behind me, slowly sliding the zipper of my dress down. The cold air licked my skin, sending shivers racing down my arms.
"There, that’s more like it!" Draco exclaimed with satisfaction. In an instant, he had stripped the dress from my body.
He threw me onto his bed, then opened the bedside cabinet. He pulled out a white cloth while cursing under his breath, "This troublesome thing!"
"Why is this here?" I watched him place the white silk beneath my hips.
"A precaution."
He entered me with brutal force. I cried out from the pain. During that time, reassuring thoughts echoed in my mind. It would be over soon, because a girl’s first time is always this painful.
Eventually, unable to bear it any longer, I sobbed into his bed. Draco let out a long string of curses before leaning down to whisper sweet comforts into my ear.
"I love you," Draco kissed my earlobe. "You gave yourself to me willingly, didn't you?"
But I hadn't even said “yes” yet.
The rest of the night was a blur of agonizing pain and drowsy mists. Finally, as if venting all his exhaustion, he pulled out and released himself onto my stomach.
He lay down beside me, and I turned to nestle into his arms.
"Do you love me?" I whispered.
"Yes, for God's sake, you ask that constantly!" he grumbled endearingly before falling into a deep sleep.
My body throbbed with a dull ache. His sweat and semen made me feel filthy and pathetic. I dragged myself into the toilet to clean up and then returned to bed to lie beside him. Watching my beta boy sleep soundly, I felt a flicker of happiness.
And so, I fell asleep.
==
The next morning, Draco had been gone long before I woke up. His scent had faded, but I still clung to his pillow. Buried in his scent every day was my beautiful dream.
My clothes were gone. Even the white cloth stained with the blood of my virginity from last night was nowhere to be found. Walking to his wardrobe, I pulled on a black t-shirt and sweatpants. Everything smelled of him, just as his scent clung to my skin.
Outside the window, the sun had risen. I lingered in Draco’s room, desperate for a moment of peace. Peace was not something easily found on the continent of Everland. It was even rarer in the Silver Fang pack.
Why did Everland have to be so harsh? Why, after enduring the suffering of nature, did people still choose to torment one another? That was a question I could never answer with my lowly omega status.
But everything was about to change. Draco was the biological son of Alpha Gianis. Draco had chosen me.
Although he was currently a beta, once the current Alpha stepped down, Draco would become an Alpha. And I would likely be his Luna. The mere thought of it made me smile inwardly.
"Time to get to work. You aren't Draco’s mate yet!" I slapped my cheeks to wake myself up. I finished my morning routine and stepped outside.
As soon as I left, I bumped into Jill. What was she doing in the private hallway of the Bloodmoon house? She carried a familiar scent, though I couldn't immediately place who it belonged to.
"Hi, Forsy." Jill flashed a smile, scanning me from head to toe.
Subconsciously, I squared my shoulders to show her that I now belonged to Draco. She had no right to bully me anymore. "Hi, Jill. Do you know where Draco is?"
"Of course," she laughed. "I'll take you to him."
A sense of foreboding washed over me. Following Jill, we headed to the open courtyard behind the Bloodmoon mansion. The grass beneath our feet was yellowed and withered—a common sight in Everland.
A group of betas was gathered, laughing about something.
"Hey, beautiful," Draco waved.
His brown hair fell messily over his eyes, and his shirtless torso revealed powerful, rippling muscles.
I shrank back in embarrassment. He walked toward us. I expected him to embrace me, to give me a morning kiss, but instead, he wrapped his arms around Jill Holloway.
He planted a sweet kiss on her lips and asked tenderly, "Did you need something, babe?"
"Is it done?" Jill glanced toward me.
My stomach tightened in agonizing pain. What was happening? Why was my boyfriend kissing her? Why did he sleep with me?
"Yes." Draco smirked at me.
His friends ran over, holding the piece of white silk stained with my blood from the night before.
"Here’s the trophy, Jill," a beta said. Then his eyes met mine. "Oh, the slut is here too? Jill, you’re so thoughtful!"
"Jill is always the most thoughtful!" Draco held the white silk in front of my face. "Unlike this thing."
The world collapsed around me; nothing could ever be the same.
"You're quite something; I thought it would be harder," Jill took the white silk, folded it, and held it out to me. "Here you go, Forsy."
As my hand trembled and reached out, she let go, letting the cloth fall to the dirt. "Ew, how filthy. Were you actually going to take it?"
I looked down. On the dying grass lay the white silk. On the white silk was the prominent red stain of my blood. It was the mark of a naive omega's stupidity and the depravity of a man who would one day be an Alpha.
"What for?" my voice shook.
"You don't need to know," Draco shrugged with total indifference. "In just one month, you were spreading your legs on my bed like an animal."
Laughter rang in my ears. My eyes darted around, searching for an escape, but there was nowhere to go. My stomach churned at his vile words. Nausea hit me, uncontrollable.
I needed an exit right now. I wished I could dig a hole in the ground to hide from it all.
"Being served by a future Alpha for my first time wasn't so bad," my voice went high, carrying every ounce of my remaining pride.
Draco growled. My legs instinctively backed away. The food I ate yesterday was clogging my throat.
"Speaking like that won't have a good ending," Draco suddenly grabbed my throat, hoisting me into the air.
In the shock of being unable to resist, I vomited everything I had eaten last night right into his face. Draco let go of me, his arms freezing in mid-air, his eyes shut tight and his mouth clamped shut.
For the next second, we could only stand there and watch. I exhaled a sharp breath, rubbing my chest after the satisfying purge. All the filth had returned to where it belonged.
"Eww!" Jill let out a long cry and backed away, beginning to retch herself.
Someone rushed to bring him a towel, wiping the vomit from his face.
At that moment, I turned to flee, but Draco—having wiped his face—grabbed my hand. He demanded, "Give me back my clothes!"
I pretended I was about to vomit again, and he shoved me away.
"I... I'll return them later..." I stammered. Draco’s friends had already surrounded me.
"You humiliated me," Draco hissed. "Fix it!"
That was it. Draco was just like Everland. A bunch of bastards who I wanted to tear limb from limb.
