CHAPTER ONE
I groaned as I opened my eyes and smelled pancakes wafting into my nostrils. Pancakes. Delicious. I got out of bed and noticed that it was about to reach noon. After sleeping in, who wouldn't feel fantastic? Since I'm not a morning person by nature, I'll always want to get even with people that are. In general, only psychopaths experience happiness in the morning. Do you think I'm right?
I dragged myself across the floor to my bathroom, where I woke myself up with a long, scorching shower.
When I was done, I quickly changed into some sweats and a loose tank top and followed the incredible aroma downstairs.
"Hello, honey! "Do you feel rested?" My mom inquired.
My mother, Kate, is a tiny, skinny woman with straight golden hair who is both incredibly sweet and strict. She has powerful cheekbones and sparkling green eyes, which give her the image of a model. She sounds genuine because of her speaking accent, which is Russian. Since my mother's side of the family is Russian, I can speak and understand it.
"Yes, thank you. "Where is my dad?"
"He went to assist Alpha William with his responsibilities. Please sit down and eat, Morgan. "Do you want any additional pancakes?" She answered.
"Okay, thank you, and six." I said that before tucking into the meal.
My dad used to be the alpha in the small English village of Dean, where we had recently relocated. However, we were forced to flee after an enemy pack attacked us and killed the majority of our pack, forcing us to move to Ashland, Oregon, in the United States. The rest of us who were still alive fled to other packs all over the world.
My mother was on vacation when my parents first met, and she later decided to stay in England and live with my father. Mates.
My father swore a pledge to the current pack's alpha not to depose him so that we could remain here and become pack members, but he still assists the alpha with pack issues. Additionally, I've heard that to allow his son to take the reins, Alpha William will soon stand down.
Tomorrow is my first day of classes here in Ashland, and I'm anxious.
If there are only a few weeks left till the conclusion of the semester, I don't even know why I'm still in school. I don't actually need grades to become one of the soldiers at the palace of the Alpha King.
Human laws are stupid.
I cover my face so that no one can judge me based just on appearance; this way, people will know me for who I am rather than how my face looks. Not that I actually conceal any scars or that I'm particularly ugly or anything. or even that I actually care. Personally, I find it slightly stupid that people seriously assess others based just on their appearance.
My only close friends and family members who see me without it are them. Since people tend to think it's pretty bizarre, this has not made me particularly popular throughout the years, so who knows what will transpire at this school?
I could even run into my partner there.
"Are you alright, honey?" Once more, you lost focus. You've finished eating, so there is no longer an excuse. "Let's go shopping!"
"Good gods, please tell your mother no!" I pleaded.
"We WILL travel." Get dressed quickly since we are leaving soon. "We will return more quickly the sooner we get there."
"Urghhhh, okay." Knowing this, I sighed and walked back upstairs to change. Knowing there will be a fight that I won't win if I refuse
I'm an expert, so believe me. Simply put, if you want peace, never argue with my mom.
I had changed into some ripped jeans, a long-sleeved jacket with the hood covering my face, and some Nike trainers before going downstairs to see my agitated mother.
"I see you there! Let's head out and shop now! Eeekkk!" Laughing, she exclaimed while jumping about. My mother is more of a child than I am, I promise. Since you've undoubtedly realized by now, my wonderful mother loves to drag my dad or me shopping. The "I need to go help William" or "When we were kids" excuses are what Dad typically employs, though.
I staggered across our front yard as my mother hauled me by my arm out of the door to the car. She shoved me into the car and then went around to the other side to get in. We began our trip to the stores when she turned on the automobile.
When we arrived at the shopping center, she parked the car and nearly leaped out of it as she was about to trip. I, on the other hand, stepped out of the car slowly and headed grumpily in the direction of where my mother was already yelling outside of a*****e.
When we entered, my mother immediately headed for the dresses, while I headed for the hoodies, jeans, and shorts sections. Anyone can see how dissimilar we are. While I typically wear dark or basic clothing, my mother prefers to dress in floral and brightly colored outfits.
I had only purchased a few navy pants, shorts, and hoodies towards the end of several exhausting hours, whereas my mother had purchased numerous clothes and cosmetics.
Are mother and daughter similar? Heh... no.
I collapsed onto our comfortable couch as my mother made dinner as we drove home.
I rotated my body to look when I heard the door open.
"DADDDD!" I yelled and threw myself at him like a baby.
Hello, pumpkin! I heard him guffaw.
As my mother entered the room, she laughed when she saw my dad holding me.
My mother grinned, "I just made dinner; let's go and eat!"
My father gently lowered me to the ground before pacing after my mother like a puppy in love.
We entered the dining area and immediately got to work on our dinners while conversing with one another.
I got into bed and dozed off while wondering what the future held.
