Serena was available on my off day so Xavier took me up to the pack and dropped me off at Serena’s house. “Call me when you’re done and I will come to get you. Please don’t walk back to the pack house,” he said.
“Xavier, what could possibly happen to me in the middle of your pack?” I asked.
“Nothing. But I’m not willing to risk it. Please just call me,” he begged.
“Fine. But someday, I’m just going to wander around and you won’t be able to stop me.”
“As soon as you’re marked, you can do whatever you want on pack lands,” he promised.
