Amara’s POV "Look at your face. It's red, and your eyes are puffy." Holding my hand and pulling me for a walk, he added, "I don't like seeing you like that." He opened his car and said, “Get in.” “But where are we going?” I asked softly. “You will know it later.” All of the terrible things that have happened to me this week—my mom's health wasn't getting better, and now my grandma has died—make me feel totally broken. I used to ask myself, "Why do I have to go through all of this terrible life?" Then I looked across at the man driving silently and realized he was the one beacon of hope that could make me believe that happiness was still possible. But the sad smile on my lips faded when I thought about whom this man was in my life. Damn! Why does it have to be so complicated?
