MARRIED TO THE ALPHA
Chapter One Married to the family bodyguard After the death of my parents, I was forced to marry the family bodyguard, and all my parent's belongings were ripped off me. He was this type of guy who had a nice body outline and very handsome, of course, that many girls crushed on him. Though he had a cold humor and rarely smiled, which added to the charm. My uncle said that was what was best for me in my current situation, and I couldn't object to it. Actually, all we did was sign a marriage certificate and then declare husband and wife. Stupid me, I expected honeymoon or something, but to my dismay, he just drove me to his home in total silent in the family black sedan. When we arrived, I first thought we were at the garage until when he took out a key and opened the wooden door with a creaking sound. Inside was too dark that she could barely see a thing and he just carried her suitcase and stormed inside the dark hole. Within seconds, the lights were switched on, and she saw the worst place she had ever been to, and though it was in a critical condition, it was well arranged. She walked into the house but was not sure that was where she belonged, and all she did was stand there and stare at the place that was now her home. "Miss, please follow me, and I will show you where you would be spending your night." The man who is now her husband said as he was now walking towards the corridor. She followed, and he led her to what she thought to be a bedroom. The bed was too small that she doubted if it could be enough for two people, leaving alone the fact that the windows were also broken, which allowed in all the cold breezes, and that was bad. "I'm sorry, miss,"he apologized, and she only managed to give a weak smile. Before she could even reply, she heard his phone ring and he answered it. "Okay, sir, I'm on my way," was all I heard before he slammed the door shut behind him. She still starred, hoping it would open again, but her hopes died after five minutes without effect. She started to think sleep had as well deserted her as she starred aimlessly at the house that was falling apart. After thirty plain minutes, she decided to make herself useful and do some laundry and maybe as well tidy up the place. All done, she lay exhausted, tired with her palms sore and painful, almost blood red. That was when she finally gave in to sleep. * * * The morning rushed in like a fast flowing river, coming in with soft sun rays blurring her vision as they lept in through the windows. Without effort, she tried to block them with her palms but in vain. She tried to reach for the phone, only to find it dead. She then got up to the shower, which turned out to be the worst baths she had in her entire life. She must've considered to rather a bath in a river full of crocodiles. After scrubbing and rubbing bubbles that reminded her bad strawberry ice cream all over herself, she turned to the tap only to hear the complaining voices of its pipes, and then finally as if out of pity, let out a drop. Fuming, she wiped and wrapped herself with a towel and fetched a bucket of water remnant from her previous day's laundry to finish her bath. She came out to look for what to wear in her suitcase, considered a rosy flower dress but decided against it since she wanted something to chase black jean trousers. She finally chose a big tee written "My Guy" in a blueprint. Fetching her phone from the living room, she noticed no sign of a human being, which definitely meant he hadn't slept in the previous night. She took a deep breath and decided to take a walk since she didn't feel hungry or have anything to do. The best place she could think of being at that moment was her parents', and that was where she went, to pay them a visit. The place looked abit overgrown, and she of the fact that no one remembered that yesterday was her parents' death anniversary. But as she drew closer, she was shocked to find a wreath of flowers lain before the house for her parents, which meant someone actually cared, let alone remembered. As she wondered who it could've been, she suggested it couldn't have been her uncle. "Mom, dad, I really miss you. I just don't know if I could've managed this all on my own. I'm married to Mr. Kieran Randolf, that family bodyguard because uncle thinks he is the guy for me. I really miss you, and I really wish you didn't have to leave." Yvonne Gwendolyn cried. A cold breeze went by and sent a shiver through her body, but she didn't even notice it. She just knelt there and let her tears flow freely, along with her pains and burdens. After what seemed like a decade of pain, she let herself say goodbye to her deceased parents, and she walked away. Her eyes still misty from sobbing, she decided to go via the VICTORIAN GRAND SUPERMARKET " to get a few groceries so as to prepare her new husband supper. She walked in and started picking a few things. She tried reaching for a bottle of Beaujolois on the top shelf in vain since she was too short. That was when my cousin Andorra her hips in with her rigid bodyguard wearing cheap tailored black pants, a white long sleeved shirt, and a black coat on top, following right behind. He stood a slight distance away from Andorra, who wore a white rosy dress with extravagantly placed makeup on her face. "Awww, my lonely little sister! Did you spend a cold night all by yourself yesterday!?" Andorra teased. "Mind your own business, Andorra," Gwen shot back as she kept trying to reach for her bottle. " Kieran, could you get me that bottle over there!?" Andorra ordered while pointing to the bottle Gwen was reaching for for the past ten minutes. I stared at him, but he didn't even glance my way, as if to avoid my stare and obediently nested down the Beaujolois bottle with ease since he was tall and well built, and added it to one of the two already full shopping carts he holding all by himself. " Gwen, people like you don't deserve a place in this world. Yet again, we need you as puppets to entertain us whenever we are bored. Anyway, bye-bye, lil' sis. But keep that in mind, " she said and added to Kieran, "Let's go." She then walked away with Kieran dragging along the heavy shopping carts, still not even sparing a glance at her. Not wanting to believe whatever had just happened, she took a deep breath to relax and to pretend nothing had happened.
