CHAPTER:5

After coming back, I went to visit my family. The kids were enjoying their stay with their grandparents. Ava and Aiden begged me not to leave the country so soon. They wanted to stay in the country a little while. I agreed with them. My parents didn't want us to leave. They wanted me to look for work in the country. Instead, of me working outside the country. I didn't agree or disagree with them. I just knew it was best if I didn't say anything. I got a call from Ten saying that we had to meet up. I left to go meet him at his apartment. I found him drinking whiskey. His house was disorganized. Clothes were on the sofa, alcohol bottles were also all over and the sink was covered with boxes of pizza and disposable plates. "How do you live in such a house?" I asked. "I didn't call you here to ask me how I should live." He replied. I sat at the edge of the sofa and watched him take the last sip of whiskey." Do you know how guilty I am, knowing that my best friend is being forced to have kids with a woman who keeps cheating on him, and he doesn't know that ?" He said. " Am sorry for putting you through this, but that what he chose." I replied. " Can you hear yourself talk? Don't you have mercy on him? " he asked. " No," I replied. He just looked at me and shook his head. He concentrated on his laptop for a while before letting me know that someone knew the secret that we had kept for this long. I was shocked." How did that person find out the truth?" I asked myself loud enough for him to hear. "I don't know, but I have to find out." he replied. I became so uneasy. It meant that I had to leave soon. Before, the truth was known by everyone. I have to protect my kids, family and friends. I was not ready to lose anyone. Ten could tell there was something I was planning. I could tell that he didn't like that idea even before I could share it with him. I left in a rush to see William. Ten tried to come after me, but I already took a cab and left. I don't know what I was thinking about coming to see him. I was already at his company asking the secretary to let me see him. The secretary told me that he was busy and if I didn't have an appointment, I was not going to see him. I decided to leave. Only then did I see him coming in. I regret coming here. I wish I had never acted out in a rush to come here. What was I going to tell him? He saw me and asked the secretary what I wanted. I had to lie before she spoke. "I was looking for a job, but she already told me that there was none." I said. He asked me to follow him to his office. I regret every step I took to follow him. When we were in his office, he remained silent. I could not take it any longer. The room was becoming too cold. The grey suit he had on made him look nobler. His aura was dignified and intimidating, yet he still had a way of drawing people to him like steel to magnet. I had to remind myself that wanted to leave. "
