01 - Prologue
Pitch-dark.
She roamed her eyes but were only greeted with utter darkness. She tried to put her hands in front of her but all she can see is the infinite pool of darkness.
Her body tensed, burst of unsettling feelings starts to creep into her skin. Her loud breath fills the damp air, heavily panting as she tries to pull herself together.
Is this another dream of her? Only this time it felt so real.
Her eyes steadily roamed around, trying to find any sign of light or a way out.
Her ears perked up, sensing something her eyes failed to see.
Her stomach lurched up in fright, an ominous feeling sent shivers down her spine.
Someone or something is watching her.
“Hello? Is anyone in here?”, she helplessly screamed. Her voice echoed.
Where is she?
How did I get here? When will this dream end?
She frantically thought.
She plodded, her hands stretched out in front of her, trying to find the wall of the cave.
She already walked half-a-mile already but there’s no sign of hard rock that could explain a cave.
She started to feel cramps in her legs from the seemingly endless of walking.
She didn’t even know if she was making progress at all! She could be just walking infinitely on the same place.
“Hello?!”, her voice quavered in fright. She’s starting to panic.
Everything doesn’t seem right! Where am I? What is happening?
When am I going to wake-up from this horrid dream?
A sudden loud thud reverberated through the whole place, she frantically turned around. Her hands sweating, chest pounding heavily.
“What is that? Who are you?” she asked nervously, her frantic voice muffled by the deafening sound. Whatever is making that sound, is sure to be exceedingly massive.
On a flash, a powerful swirl of air like that of a tornado started circling her. She rooted her feet on the ground as she tries to keep her balance amidst the formidable force trying to throw her away from her ground.
And as if its force not intimidating enough and as if a powerful tornado coming out of nowhere not weird enough – the air started to gather more strength as it glows in soft silver mist.
Her eyes bulge out in dread as she witnessed the tornado transforming into “almost human form”. Thin arms and slender legs slowly taking into shape. Its non-human face –two pairs of silver blank eyes stares right into her soul. Surge of chills crept into her. Her legs shake uncontrollably as she dreadfully anticipated what would happen next.
This felt too real to be just a dream!
She horrifyingly thought!
Suddenly, its long thin arms scooped her. She tried to wiggle out from its arms, but it slowly transformed back into tornado trapping her inside.
She screamed in horror as it started to move - with her still trapped inside.
She desperately thinks of a way to escape, but how can she possibly do that?
Her mere strength was nothing compared to the formidable force.
How can she win against nature?
Long-agonizing seconds passed and the blur scene she can see from spaces shifted. Long array of bright lights seemed to sway in rhythm. Warm feeling starting to engulf her, heat prickles into her skin, filling in the undesirable coldness she felt just awhile ago. She can hear flowing water nearby.
She’s totally clueless wherever she is right now, but she surely be on a forest right now.
The dream seemed to go on forever.
Will I ever wake-up from this?
She felt the tornado slowing down and the current of air, trapping her inside getting weaker.
Instantaneously, the tornado dropped her. A loud shriek escaped from her mouth as she tries to grab onto something to stop her from falling.
Is this how people died from sleeping? Soul trapped in a dream.
She bellowed horrendously – a desperate cry for help.
But she’s alone, no one would come to her rescue.
As if accepting the fate that awaits her, she closes her eyes as she waits for her death.
Her body plunges onto the water.
For a brief second, she felt relieved that she falls into the water instead of a hard rock but then she remembers, she can’t swim.
What luck that she has!
Out of desperation, she kicked her arms and legs underwater as she tries to break in towards the surface.
However, as if the water has a life of its own, pushed her deep down.
She tried to grasp for air but as she opened her mouth, water rushed onto her – filling her lungs.
Strength slowly escaping from her, she stopped wriggling and opened her eyes. Red and green blurry dots appeared just above the water surface, as if trying to bid a goodbye to her.
Her final breath appeared like bubbles of water, rising upwards, seemingly telling the lonely forest of her death.
Before darkness engulfed her, a pair of strong, branch-like arms scooted her towards the surface. Tree branches encircling her body as its arms lifted her up.
She’s too tired to open her eyes and too scared to witness whatever is happening to again.
Red and orange splashes through her eyelids, soft heat warming her up.
Regaining a little bit of her strength, her eyes darted opened and screamed when she saw the scene in front of her.
Pool of air and water taking a human form, a tree man and a human with his whole body lit-up with fire – all tending her.
Fast as a lightning, she backs away from them, her eyes gaped in astonishment.
She rubbed her eyes multiple of times to see if she was just hallucinating but the four unhuman with human-like form just continued staring at her, studying her.
“Who are you? What are you doing to me? Am I in a dream? Did you trap me in here?” she shoots them questions, but they all remained tight-lipped.
The fire stands up in his glory and walked towards her. He is enormous and intimidating with his size, she assumed, he is their king as there is a crown sitting on his head.
She backed again when the fire approached her.
“Dynagennaevgenis”…
She looked up with a confused look.
What did he just called me? Is he referring to me?
But that’s a weird name.
My name’s Dyna. Just Dyna and not that Dynalichsfejsafeu whoever is that.
The treeman opened her arms towards the sky.
With a voice as loud as thunder, he incantated these strange words.
Halarem karesha Dyna
Goroldha lambherna
Deshio, bjefhio, tyrichio, volorio
Nemhio jaghardna
Fjorna elementio garadna
Llakrio harundio whgardnia
Eidicio larencio marhencio Eilitiotrocio!
Dia halarem karesha Dyna
Vjorna Ischiona de Brondhio
The fire, the air, the tree and the water closed their eyes as if they were praying.
She did not understand anything except that her ears perked up every time her name or was it her that was mentioned.
What is that language? And why there’s Dyna on it?
She suddenly felt a tingling sensation, chill and warmth both embraced her skin.
An odd feeling engulfing her, something is trying to wake up something inside her.
She remained speechless and confused.
On a flash, she felt like her body was pulled-out.
The scene in front of her went on dazed.
Dia halarem karesha Dyna!
The fire shouted for the last time before everything went black again.
Dia halarem karesha Dyna..?
