2020 Dangerous times

Chapter VII

                                                                                             Traitor

              When night fell on the Corvin castle, Adrian snuck out of the castle and got into a car and set off. Soon the headlights of another car light up and leave in pursuit of the other, which was in the possession of Mihaela and David. A few hours before, Mihaela told David everything she didn't want to believe, but to reassure her colleague, she agreed to follow her. Adrian drove near Bran Castle, somewhere near a cave, where he entered not before looking in all directions.

               The two follow him through the cave until he appears in front of the stairs leading up. Mihaela looked at her colleague who nodded to pull out his pistols and they started to climb. Without realizing it, they wake up at a door that led inside the castle where voices could be heard in the distance. I open the door slowly and advance to the balcony near the fountains inside Bran Castle. Adrian was having a conversation with someone who was more in the shadows.

              - Looks like the attack on the knights' headquarters alerted everyone, Adrian said. I have to communicate less by other means, my phone is being tracked.

                - You said you were helping me remember who I really was, what had happened in 1850. You can't leave me like that, said Vlad, his face coming to light.

                 - And I'll keep my word. But they can't risk finding out about me.

                 Mihaela pulls her colleague aside without being seen, trying to reassure him, telling him that he needs to know more, that maybe it's not what he seems to be, but David was much too shocked but also nervous about what he had seen. and he had heard.                     - We're coming now, protect Victor, Mihaela said, then hung up. What did you do Adrian?

                    -  What happens?

                    - David's headquarters is under attack.

                     - He didn't do anything, Vlad said. Wolves or intruders to finish their work. You have two options. Talk to us and try to catch us, which by the way will not be easy and variant to take you quickly to the headquarters to see if you can save something.

                      But their path would not be easy for them because of the wolves that were chasing them trying to kill them. The wolves being bigger than the usual ones and with such great power that they could hit the car, causing it to derail a little. The road to Corvin Castle was getting harder and harder, and it was harder and harder for David to keep the car on the road, but at the same time hitting the wolves that came close to them in the blood or to the right. Mihaela had taken an ARX160 beretta with four magazines from under the back seat and started firing. David honked and tried to warn the world to stay closed and avoid danger while he also avoided other cars in traffic.

After a few hours when they arrive at the castle, the two see how the surroundings were full of corpses of wolves and comrades. David stops next to Hook who had signaled to them.

                    - Where you have been?

                     - It was that last time only now there were many more. They tore open the gates like cardboard. I held on to them as hard as I could, but unfortunately many lost their lives.

                       - Victor, where is he?

                       Without Hook saying anything, Mihaela realizes that Victor is among those lost in the battle and quickly flees inside the city. David informs them of all that had happened and where they were, after which he gave them a helping hand in gathering the slain wolves, setting them on fire, and then prepared to lead them on the last road to those who had fallen in battle. Mihaela was devastated but also angry, no one still dared to contradict her or stand in her way. Victor was a father to her, he was the one who saved her when she was a teenager, raised her and taught her everything he knew. From that moment she had become the new leader of the knights and the first order she had made as chief was for Vlad to be killed and Adrian to be captured and brought to the trial of the knights.

                     The fallen were taken to the crypts in the basement of cities where many of the knights over the years were left to rest. Adrian's betrayal changed things, he knew everything there was to know about the knights, from security to various plans he would implement to save the country, yet they could not linger long. The time to take action came, and Hook and David were on the field while Mihaela told them where the two were seen. Finally David receives a phone number with a private number.

                    - Hi David.

                     - Adrian !? Teach until it's too late. I destroyed most of your offices and you have nowhere to hide.

                      - Do you really think I'm hiding? You're really pathetic. We have headquarters in the world, you could not wipe us off the face of the earth even if you wanted to, but rest assured we will see you again soon and you will be sorry.

                      - What did you do that for? Victor gave you a good goal, you could do a lot. Why did you choose them?

                     - Because he knew I came from a much larger family than you. I am the heir of Romulus one of the founders of Rome but also the founder of the Illuminati organization…

                     Hook takes the phone from David's hand and he starts talking.

                   - Slightly strong. I'll take care of you… in the end no matter how big you are, you'll keep kneeling, Adrian said, then hung up.

                   Without realizing it, Hook holds the phone in his hand until it shatters. He motions for them to get in the car and then they head to the headquarters where things have become somewhat normal. Mihaela was waiting for them in the meeting room where she was paying attention to some images from America where on a field in L.A. a plane that appeared to be private had crashed. In another picture, Adrian appeared near the accident. In L.A. some of the best four field men trained by Hook himself were sent, and they had another mission for them.

                  After they arrived at the castle, Mihaela took the two aside where only they could be and asked what happened to the phone because she tried to contact them several times without any result.

                  - Next time, be careful not to destroy this one, too, Mihaela said, handing him another phone. Maybe I need you urgently.

                 - I understand. What do you know about Adrian?

                 - He was seen in L.A., I sent your top four cadets Hook after him.

                - Good choice, he said. We'll have him in custody soon.

                  Prepared for the road, the three met at the car in which Mihaela had filled the trunk with weapons of all kinds and then set off. When they got there, Hook went to search the area while the two remained in the car. Hook helped David to his feet, then took his colleague in his arms and rushed to the car, where he laid her on the back seat. The two climbed up and hurried to the headquarters. None of them realized what had happened and hoped Helga had some information.

                The road was long and had to be traveled quickly, as Mihaela was hit in the head and needed medical attention, and Hook accelerated as fast as she could. Everything was true in David's mind, he thought sometimes of his colleague, sometimes of what had happened. Eventually they arrived at the headquarters and Mihaela was taken directly to the emergency room where she was cared for, and Hook and David went to Helga to find out what had happened. As Helga tells them a theory about what happened, a video call interrupts them.

             - Hello friends. I can't say I'm disappointed, Adrian said.

            - You'll pay, David said. What did you do this time?

            - You see, the Illuminati have a very advanced technology from the rest of the world, so they managed to clone Vlad with all his might, but I discovered something else. With their technology I was able to match some of his blood with mine.

               - Here you go?

               - I needed him for two purposes: to gain the leadership of this organization but also to improve myself, to gain importance. Once I had these two things, I didn't need him anymore, so I decided to eliminate him.

              Everyone remained unmoved by Adrian's words, he just threatened the world with a world war and in addition he launched a virus that kills people every day. Mihaela and Helga started contacting all the laboratories about the virus, and the other two prepared for a nuclear war. The time for survival has started and the fight has just begun, even if they manage to stop the missiles, if they didn't stop Adrian, nothing will change for you.
