IVA Shock hit me first, clean as it sliced right through whatever fog of sleep or alcohol still clung to me. But it twisted almost instantly into heavy, crushing guilt that punched the air straight out of my lungs. My lips parted, then closed again, failing to find words. Wanda’s face crumpled, and she threw herself into my arms before I could react.
