The fall of Dark Flame
SEASON 1: THE FALL OF DARK FLAME Episode 1: “The School of Fire & Flesh” The Kingdom of Nér’Valor stood hidden beneath three layers of illusion—a forest that never moved, a sky that never cried, and a silence that swallowed even thunder. Few mortals had ever crossed into its borders, but those who did never returned unchanged. And at the heart of this magical land stood a towering black fortress known only as The House of Shadowed Flame. Here, the ancient demon king Roi reigned—not as a king on a throne—but as a teacher. A master. A trainer of young demons, shape-changers, fire-kissed rebels, and magical outcasts who were learning to control the chaos within them. Roi was not just powerful—he was beyond definition. With hair as black as void and eyes that smoldered red beneath silver lashes, he walked like war and spoke like wine. Every student trembled in his presence, not just from fear—but from fascination. That morning, Roi stood at the edge of the training ring, shirtless, arms folded, flames licking his shoulders lazily. Around him, dozens of demon apprentices hovered in the air, trying to hold fireballs steady. “Control it,” Roi said, voice deep like molten stone. “Magic isn’t passion. It’s discipline masquerading as madness. Like love... if you ever survive it.” The demons chuckled uneasily. Some fell. One burst into sparks. And that’s when she arrived. Through the enchanted gates, escorted by two cloaked humans, walked a girl who could have been a goddess if she hadn’t been born human. Her name was Merveille. She didn’t wear magic—she was magic. Her eyes held starlight. Her lips looked like they’d been painted by lust itself. Even the grass bent beneath her without dying. The guards at the gate lost speech. Birds circled once then vanished, ashamed of their own beauty. Roi paused mid-command. For the first time in two hundred years... he blinked. Merveille’s father cleared his throat. “We were told this was a safe place... for our daughter to learn.” “Safe is not the word I’d use,” Roi murmured, stepping forward. “But it is... educational.” Merveille’s eyes met his. Everything went quiet. Even the fire paused. Roi extended a hand. “I am Roi. King of the Forgotten Flame. Teacher of demons. Breaker of arrogance. You are?” “M...Merveille,” she replied. Her voice trembled—just enough to betray the spark in her chest. “I wish to learn.” Roi smiled slowly. “Then you are most welcome. But remember—here, magic is not learned. It’s awakened. And once awakened, it never sleeps again.” Her mother looked concerned. Her father whispered, “Are you sure, child?” But Merveille never looked away from Roi. “Yes,” she said, softer now. “I’m sure.” — That evening, she was taken to her new quarters—a floating chamber surrounded by rivers of whispering shadows. But she couldn't sleep. Roi was in her thoughts. The way he moved. The strange sadness in his smile. The fire that didn’t burn but called to something inside her. She stepped to her window. The moon bathed her in silver. And far below, on a ledge carved into the fortress wall, Roi stood alone—shirtless again—his hands glowing with magic as he painted glowing sigils in the air. He didn’t look up, but spoke. “You should be asleep, Merveille.” She gasped. “How—how did you—” “I hear all things,” he said. “Especially when beauty stares like that.” She flushed. “I was just... curious.” He turned, eyes glowing faintly. “Curiosity is dangerous here.” “And you’re not?” He smiled again. That devastating smile. “Danger is the only teacher worth trusting.” Merveille looked down. “Then maybe I’ll learn something real here.” Roi’s gaze softened. Just for a second. “You already have.” She closed the window slowly, heart racing. In that single glance, she had seen it—not just power. But longing. Depth. And danger wrapped in a body no girl could forget. She would learn here. She would grow. And she would fall in love with the last man she ever should. But for now, she just laid back in her bed, whispering his name like a secret spell. “Roi…”
