Nancy entered the Hard Rock and looked around for a place to sit, and was a bit startled to see Michaels seated at a table with a woman. She had occasionally left instructions from Betty for him, and then watched as he retrieved them, but she did not recognize the woman he was with. Michaels had never seen Nancy, but he probably wouldn’t have recognized her even if he had. She always made a few superficial changes to her appearance when she went out because she didn’t want to be recognized. Her association with Betty was often noted in the news media, and she didn’t want that association to attract attention.
