It was sunset when I woke up from my sweet sleep. I yawned and stretched out. I was energized now. It would soon be night and I knew I had to go see Mabel. She would be gone for the trip tomorrow and now was my chance to speak with her.
My hair was scattered, evidence that I had the best sleep ever. I went into the bathroom to wash my face. I didn’t want any make-up all over my face.
I made way for the door. I opened it gently and went out.
I tiptoed down the stairway. I was in stealth mode. I didn’t want anyone to see me.
I scurried through the sitting room to the front door. I was careful enough not to let it squeak.
I was outside now. I scanned the entire environment. The servants were quite busy and some maids were arranging some clothes.
