Bernard slammed his fist into the table again making the glasses fell over and water free flow over the table. All the women gasped in fear but none talked or raised their heads. Daisy watched the spilled water spread on the table cloth and drip over the edge of the table.
Daisy closed her eyes and wished she too could drip away from the developing thunderstorm in the room like the water. She took a deep breath and prepared her mind for what was coming.
“How dare you?” Bernard roared in rage, his words echoing off the walls of the house. Daisy flinched and suddenly stood in fright away from the table immediately causing the chair to fall in a loud clutter. She stared wide eyed at the chair then at her father expecting to find him storming towards her.
