Rey drummed his fingers against his thigh. He was becoming more impatient by the hour. He looked over at Derek and Mrs. Drew and ground his teeth when he saw the deputy turn another page on his notepad. The police deputy had spent the last three hours taking their statements. They had all repeated themselves like broken records. Even though the officer was only doing his job, Rey began to wonder if the devil sent him to tempt his patience. Rey watched again as the deputy turned to a previous page and asked for the hundredth time at what time Bernard Drew entered the room.
