Prologue
"Morana! Are you paying attention?"
"No"
I think I hit a nerve, cause her forehead vein is huge. Well, let me tell you. My english teacher is a pain in the ass. Literally. It's not like you can actually learn something from her. You have to get yourself a tutor, in order to get something from this class. I raise my eyes to look at the redhead woman. She is 5'4, black eyes, and a face you can't forget. She always looks angry. I never saw her smile. Sometimes I wonder if she can do that.
"To the principal, NOW!"
I collect my notes, put them in my backpack, and get out of class smiling. An hour with her feels like an eternity in hell. It's not like this isn't happening almost every day. I arrived at the principal's office. Huge black double doors. That's all I can say. I knock and wait for a signal to go in.
After a few seconds, I hear a faint "come in". I grab the handle and open the door. Mr. Smith got used with my visits. I sat down on the chair in front of the office and waited for him to start the conversation. He was still looking through the papers he had on the desk. I had plenty of time to look in the room, like I always do. Very spacious room, with black furniture. Almost everything is black. I think this is my favorite place in the all high school.
"Morana, your aunt called 2 minutes ago. She told me you're moving in Alaska and that this is your last day here."
"Yes sir."
That was all I could say. I never liked the idea to move away from my aunt. She was more like a mother to me.
"Well, in that case, take care of yourself, behave and thank God you are leaving. I can finally have a peaceful school." He said while laughing. I swear to God, if I didn't knew him better, I could've said that he was serious. Even with the laugh. His face construction made him look really intimidating. But the green eyes gave him away.
I stand up and smiled at him. And I never smile. I am going to miss him.
"Off you go. Your aunt is waiting for you."
"Thank you Mr. Smith. Have a good day!"
I left the building and start walking home. A nice day for middle of September. And a very quiet day for middle of the week.
10 minutes later, I arrived home. Aunt Jenna was waiting for me in the kitchen.
"Hello sweetheart. How was your day?"
"Hey, aunt Jen. Boring as ever. What are you doing?"
"I just got off the phone with your uncle. He told me that the car is on the highway. In about 1 hour will arrive. Did you finish packing?"
"Yes. All I have to do is a quick shower."
"Okay baby. I'll be in the living room. Come down when you're ready."
