Chapter Two It suddenly felt very cold and boring in her corner of the library. She entered Mr. Harcroff’s information into the computer. It beeped at her, irritatingly, and a window opened up. Now what! The window told her that Mr. Harcroff already had an account! That’s weird, she thought. Why would he ask for another card? She opened up the account and the answer was immediately apparent. Mrs. Harcroff had applied for a card a couple of years ago; that had been before Becky was hired. She glanced at the list of books Mrs. Harcroff had borrowed; her eyes widened. They were all romance novels. Becky looked over at Mr. Harcroff where he seemed to be struggling to maintain concentration, a paperback on the table in front of him. A romance; all the novels on the rack were romance novels. S
