I had no idea why I lost control whenever I was around Mira. No matter how hard I tried to stay composed, something about her presence shattered all my resolve. She had been through so much and I just wanted to make sure she was okay.
But the moment I stepped into her room, my stomach twisted. Damn! This wasn’t the Mira I knew. The fire in her eyes was gone, replaced by disgust now. She barely even looked at me, like I was nothing. Like I wasn’t even there.
"Let me go!" she choked out, her voice trembled in pain. "You have no right to touch me!"
