Mira's POV,
“Damn it!” My breath came in ragged gasps as I stumbled into my room, the heavy oak door slamming shut behind me. That was a narrow escape for me, as luckily Kieran didn’t push me further to say anything. Otherwise, I couldn’t think what would have happened if the three of them had faced each other.
Entering my room, I slumped against my bed, my heart hammering, trying to shake the feeling that I’d just dodged a trap. I just didn’t want to make any more trouble for Kieran in this royal palace.
Suddenly, the door burst open without a knock and I flinched, my mind stirring as a strange old woman stormed in. Her silver hair was a messy halo around her head, her eyes blazing with a fury that made the air crackle. She stared me down like I was something she'd just hunt down.
