My heart was already thumping in agony as I strode through the arched doorway the moment the council meeting ended. I mind-linked with my Beta, Dexter while pacing toward Mira’s room.
“Alpha,” Dexter’s voice buzzed through the mind link.
“Did they return safely?” I tried to sound calm but failed entirely.
“Yes, Alpha. Lord Kyden ensured Lady Mira’s safety throughout the journey. She’s now resting in her room.”
“Has Violet checked on her yet?” Obviously I couldn’t rely solely on the royal healer’s observation for my breeder. After all, Lyria could manipulate their decisions at any moment.
