It had been almost a week since Mason had stayed the night. They hadn’t had a chance to do any real talking because he was so busy at the job site. When he came by Tuesday night to do the lights and locks, the man had looked so worn out she didn’t want to approach the topic. They had texted a bit, him checking on her, but that was it.
Hunter was due to start school on Monday, and she had spent the week getting supplies and clothes for him.
