Chapter 15. - Learning

After I finished practicing I went back to room and showered, the girls still haven’t come back. I got dressed in black shorts and leather black top, afterwards I sat on the bed. What am I supposed to do now? My thoughts about the past day took over. I looked at the mini fridge thinking about taking a drink. I got up and started walking through the room. O screw it. I walked over to mini fridge, took the bottle and poured myself a drink. I drank it quickly and poured another one. I had three drinks and afterwards went out. I would do about anything to shout my mind off now. I found myself in the big garden behind dorms. I sat next to statues of angel and a demon.

“Aideen”- I heard a familiar voice-

I followed the sound of it and saw Nathan standing behind a vegetation made arch.

“Hey”

“Thinking again?”- He sat opposite of me-

“That’s that kind of week, how about you?”

“Same”- he smiled- “I saw you practicing flying before”

“Don’t tell me, it sucks, I know but I am getting a bit faster”

“No”- he narrowed eyes- “you are good considering you haven’t been here for long”

“Is that a compliment?”

“I guess it is”

“Thank you”- I smiled- “so what is your story?”

“My story”- he laughed- “There is actually no story”

“You liar”

“Angels don’t lie”- he said serious and got up-

“Hey, I’m sorry I didn’t mean to..”

“Its fine”- He said interrupting me and went away-

I felt so bad, why do I have such a big mouth.. I leaned on the statue and closed my eyes. What is wrong with me?

The day passed so fast, I spent it walking around the Academy territory, getting used to environment. When I came back to the room it was already night time.

“Where did you wandered off?”- Ever asked-

“Nowhere, just walked around”

“Do you want to watch a movie with us?”- Kali asked-

“I will pass. I’m going to crush into the bed”

“Fine”- Kali looked at me worried-

I changed and went to sleep. I just lied there when I heard the girls talking.

“I am worried about her Kali”- Ever said all of the sudden-

“She will be fine”

“Are you sure? She seems off”

“I’m telling you, she will be ok, now keep it down we don’t want to wake her up”

“Did you at last talk with him?”

“No, he is in some of his moody behaviour I never know what’s on his mind when he is like this”

“So when will you talk with him?”

“Soon”- she said kind of upset- “I can’t talk with him while he is like this”

“This is a disaster Kali”

I stopped listening and closed my eyes. I had the most confusing dream ever. I found myself in the middle of fire, at first it burnt me, I screamed trying to get away but it followed me almost like it stuck to me. After some time it stopped burning me and I kind of felt even comfy around it.

I woke up feeling hot. I got up and went to take the coldest shower I could. When I got back to the room Kali was sitting already dressed on my bad.

“Are you ok?”- She asked-

“Yeah”- I lowered shoulders- “why wouldn’t I be?”

“Well you kind of screamed last night”

“I did?”- I asked confused-

“Yea I tried to wake you up but I couldn’t”

“What do you mean by that?”

“What I said I couldn’t wake you up”

“That’s weird”- I went to the closet and opened it- “Don’t worry I am fine”

“You would told me if something was happening right?”

“Yeah “- I took the delicate beige dress out of the closet- “actually there is something I haven’t told anyone”

“No pressure, I just want to know you are alright”

“I am really”- I started putting the dress on- “where is Ever?”

“She went to have breakfast and I though it’s the best if it’s just two of us so we can talk”

“It is”- I came and sat next to her- “I haven’t told you everything about Lucifer”

“I knew you were keeping something”

“Well you do know me the best here”

“What is it. What did he do?”

“Nothing. My mother did it. He just went along with it.”

“What?”- She grabbed my shoulders-

“Lucifer told me that my mother singed the contract with his father in which she is giving me over to Lucifer”- I got up- “You can only imagine how is that making me upset, no its making me pissed. “- I clenched fists – “She sold me over to Lucifer and I can bet she got her precious power in return”

“What?”!”- She got up- “I can’t believe it”

“Well believe it” – I said walking around-

“No wonder you are like this. And what did Lucifer do?”

“Nothing. I think he is ok with it or doesn’t care I just..”

“This is a disaster Lily”

“Lily?”- I looked at her-

“Yea, I figured out your name isn’t Aideen, and you clearly don’t want to be called Lilith so why not Lily”

“That’s actually really good idea”- I nodded-“Lily”

“Yup I am full of those”- she moved towards the door- “I have to go somewhere, you go and have breakfast without me and we can meet on class”

“Are the classes staring today?”

She nodded

“I think we will be in classroom today, it’s the mean building, just through the stars and left.”

“Sure, see you there”

She went out in a hurry. I finished getting ready and went to breakfast. I found everyone there.

“Where is Kali?”- Dorian asked-

“I don’t know she went out in a hurry”

We ate the breakfast with guys talking about some hypothetical move they are thinking of making in their next fight practice. After we ate, we went to class. While I was walking through the crowd of angels and demons I bumped into someone. I looked up and found myself looking at Lucifer. I brushed against him and walked further all the way to classroom following Ever.

“So the guys are advanced or?”- I asked her feeling Lucifer look on my back-

“Yea”- Kali came in front of us- “Lets go inside”

We walked inside the classroom and sat next to each other. We started chatting while until some demon girl didn’t came next to us. She sat near Kali.

“Hey K”- She smiled- “What’s up?”

“Davina”- She said without even looking at her-

“I was thinking maybe we could hang out later”- she continued talking-

“I am quite busy later”

“Then maybe tomorrow?”- She wrapped her long black hair around her finger-“Tell your brother I’m waiting him to contact me”

“Shut up already!”- Kali raised ton and her eyes shined red-

Davina looked at her mad but turned around.

“You got a brother?”- I asked Kali-

She nodded.

“Please, lets just drop it I don’t like talking about him”- she rolled eyes-

“Sure”-I nodded-

Ever shook head looking at Kali. I wanted to ask Ever what’s happening when I heard the sound of high heels. I looked at the entrance, a woman demon was just walking in.

“Stop talking”- she shoot a look to every one of us and stopped her eyes on me- “A new face. Aideen I suppose”

I nodded looking at her. She was so beautiful, her face looked like one of those perfect Greek sculpture of goddesses. She had long black hair and black eyes, with matching black wings. She was dressed in black long tight dress. When she would be on earth, I would say she is about thirty years old, here I couldn’t even try to guess.

“I know your father”- she nodded to me-

If that wasn’t the sign I don’t know what is, so she is the one who will teach me demon stuff, that’s cool.

“Alright everyone, so what did we do last time?”- she sat on the table-

“You were teaching us how to read other creature energy and how to use our mind to accomplish what we want”- Ever said-

“Wonderful someone is actually paying attention here, so today we will go out in the yard and do that again”

“Why do we need to do that again?”- Davina asked-

“Because we have a new student and this is something basic”

“Well I am over basic, you’re just repeating everything because of her”- she looked at me –“so what one angel more or less nobody cares”

I looked at her, what is her problem?

“As I recoil last time we did this you couldn’t manage to read energy”

Davina looked at the teacher mad.

“What are you all waiting for?”- Teacher looked at us- “OUT!”- She picked out a book and hit the table with it-

Everyone started to get up, I followed them. The teacher grabbed my hand.

“Not you”

Ever and Kali passed me a look and went outside.

“I am Yssabelle, I talked with your father about..”- she lowered head- “well you know”

I nodded.

“Take this”- she gave me a book- “read it and give it back when you finish, in the meantime I want you to meet me near the fountains at midnight tonight”

“Sure”- I started walking towards the exit and then turned around- “Yssabelle”

“Yeah?”

“My name is Lilith not Aideen”

“I see you meet Carrie”- she smiled- “Your actual name is Lilith but that doesn’t mean you aren’t Aideen”

“So what you are trying to say I am Lilith Aideen just as..”

“Yeah just as you are”- she whispered – “both angel and demon”

“You’re right”- I smiled and went outside –

Kali and Ever waited me in front of the building.

“Well?”- Kali looked at me-

“I’ve got homework”- I showed them the book-

Kali looked at it and it disappeared.

“Where did you?”- I asked confused-

“It’s a book about demons Lily”- she rolled eyes- “How to be a demon”- she whispered- “don’t worry it’s in our room”

“Well you could have warned me”

“Where is the fun in that?”- She laughed-

“Didn’t think you will be hanging out with angels?”- Davina said showing up- “First Ever and Finn and now this one”- she touched my hair- “You will embarrass your family name”

“This one has a name”- I pulled her hand and stretched it- “and doesn’t like being touched”

A painful expression crossed her face.

“How dare you? Do you have any idea who are you talking to?”

People started to look at us.

“Yeah I do”- I laughed- “One of the most irritating girl ever”- I let go of her hand- “careful next time you might lose it”

Everyone burst into a laugh. Davina looked at me pissed.

“O you will see, you little”

Yssabelle came behind her.

“Should we start with you Davina?”- She asked interrupting her-

“Whatever”- she said still looking at me- “you’ll regret this”- she whispered-

Davina walked with Yssabelle in the centre.

“That was awesome”- Kali whispered-

“Awesome?”- Ever look at both of us- “That was stupid, angels don’t do that kind of stuff”

“Dang”- Kali bit her nail- “She’s right”

I lowered my shoulders.

“Well good thing I am not fully one then”- I laughed-

“Something funny Aideen?”- Yssabelle asked-

“Nope”- I shook head-

“Fine then pair up everyone”

I looked at Kali and Ever.

“I will go find a pair”- Ever said and moved in a search for a pair-

“What I want you all to do right now is reach deep inside you”- Yssabelle continued talking- “and push over your limit, find your pair and feel their emotions”

“Who will go first?”- I asked-

“You, you’re new”- Kali answered-

I closed my eyes and tried to picture Kali standing in front of me, I felt some flickering, I kept pushing my mind further until I felt it all. I felt her energy, damn she was powerful, but she was holding back. I felt a tiny spark of something. I tried harder to feel something and suddenly I felt it, she was worried for some reason. I also felt deep buried anger there, the anger that she rarely used, as if she was containing herself. I opened eyes and looked at her.

“Well?”- She looked at me-

“Why are you holding back?”- I asked-

“I will take that as yeah Kali I did it”-she said ignoring my question-“My turn”- She said and looked at me-

I just looked at her back, it took her about a second.

“You liked what you did to Davina”- she smiled and whispered in my ear- “you demon”

I laughed.

“Who finished?”- Yssabelle asked-

“We did”- Kali answered-

“Really?”- Yssabelle looked at me- “nice job Aideen, you are a quick learner like your father”

I lowered my shoulders.

“Well that will be all for today, now off to Michael, he is waiting for you at the south tower”

We all went to the tower where we found an angel that thought us how to fly and fight. We were all supposed to jumb of the tower and land back in. When my turn came I was so glad I practised with my friends so I am not that bad at it as I was the day I came here. The day passed so quickly with all the activities we had. I was hanging out with Kali and Dorian when the midnight came. I hurried up and went to meet Yssabelle. She was waiting on me right where she said she would be.

“I am here”

“Good”- She looked at me- “First of all I expect full dedication from you, we will practice here at midnight every second day and I want you to practice on your own too.”

“Sure”- I nodded-

“I saw you had potential today you mastered that emotion stuff quickly, but that is easy next to this one. First of all every demon has a unique power the stuff I am teaching on class is basic, the things for both species that any demon or angel can do. But I expect lot of more from you after all your father is Azazel and when we look at the mother side, well she is not as important in hierarchy but she is strong”

“So we have to find your power that’s going to be hard, when we take the fact that you are all new to this, but we will find it out, today I just want you to practice your mind, you are a demon and we can tempt anyone. You just have to think hard enough, I will not take much of your time today- she looked at me-

Suddenly I saw the most beautiful place, everything was green, I could hear the water flowing somewhere near, so I walked and found it when I picked up my leg ready to step in it I found myself on the edge of the cliff that Academy was built on. Yssabelle hold my hand and pulled me back.

“See? Next time I see you I want you to try to tempt me to do something like that”

“Alright…”- I said confused-

“Now go and rest, see you in two days at the same time”

I nodded and went back to dorm. Next two days I spent reading the book she gave me, practicing my flying and trying to make something like she did and Kali was helping me with it. I meet her in two days at the same time.

“Here is the book”- I gave her the book she gave me to read-

“You already reed it?”- She asked astonished-

“Yeah”

"What do you think of it?”

"Actually it was pretty easy to read, it helped me a bit with assignment you gave me”

“How come?”

I pushed the thoughts of my head and started to get in her mind, I pictured the same spot we were but the floor was gone, I put the thought of that to her head. She grabbed the top of the bench holding on to it. But than just relaxed and looked at me.

"Not bad Aideen, for a first time this is pretty good”- she smiled-

She gave me a few new books to read on the topic of demon powers and we continued practice.
