Chapter 14. - Cooling down

I stayed there until the morning. Once the first light shine through the night, I felt a bit calmer. A rage was still there inside of me but I embraced it. I realized I needed to fly to back to Academy so I spent some time trying to fly up but I wasn’t so good at it. Finally, after a lot of trying I flew up, once I was in the air I started moving wings trying to get to the Academy. Somehow, I was moving but it wasn’t so easy as it seemed. Every few swings I feel down but I kept on going up all until I reached the Academy. Once I was there, I tried to elegantly get down the way Kali did the other day but instead I ended up flying down and falling. I got up all bruised and went back to the dorm. Once I got into the room I saw Kali, Dorian, Damian, Ever and Finn all on the bed with nervous expressions on their faces.

“Aideen”- Dorian got up, came to me and hugged me- “What happened?”

The rest of them got up and came to me too.

I looked at their worried faces. Should I tell them, I mean they are the only ones I have. I went to my bed and threw myself on it.

“Something happened?”

“We can all see that..”- Finn started talking but Ever got in the middle of his words-

“Was it Lucifer?”- Ever asked, looked at Kali and then answered her own question- “I knew it, I told you Dorian that we should all get to Lucifer and get her back, what did he do?”

“What happened?”- Kali shoot Ever a look and then sat next to me”

“I believe you”- I got up and looked all of them- “all of you, so when I say this I hope nobody else will find it out and that maybe.. you might help me”-I wiped the tears forming in my eyes- "You are the only ones I have"

“Yea of course, I mean we don’t know you a long time, but honestly you grew on me so.. shoot what do you need? “- Damian said-

“Before I came here my parents told me they aren’t really my parents, I meet my real angelic dad and ..”- I stopped- “well he told me my mother is a demon”

“What?”- Evers eyes got wider-

“Get out of here”- Damian looked at me-

“How is that possible?”- Dorian got up and started walking-

“So you are half- half?”- Finn asked confused-

Kali just sat next to me and listened.

“Yea”- I nodded- “Apparently I am the only one like this.. Well according to Azazel”

“Not apparently…”- Kali started talking- “you are the only one”

“Wait Azazel is your father?”- Finn smiled-

I nodded.

“Cool, bet you can do everything”

“That’s not important now Finn”- Ever said-

“If you think that’s everything.. uu .. There is so much more..”- I bit my inner cheek- “ I've met my real mother" - I hissed the word mother-" and my name is not Aideen, well Azazel named me Aideen but she named me Lilith and that name is the legit one”

“Now I get it”- Dorian smiled- “that’s why you were so weird yesterday, Lilith yeah you kept saying that “- he hugged me-

“So I take it nobody in school knows?”- Damian asked-

“Only one demon teacher but I haven’t met him or her yet.”

“So “- Kali got up – “I say we do everything we can to keep this between us”

Everybody nodded.

“Now”- she turned to me- “what happened to your dress?”

I laughed. Typical Kali.

“I tried to fly, as you can see it didn’t end up well”

Everybody laughed.

“We will have to teach you”- Finn looked at me-

“Yea”- Dorian added- “Can’t have a demon newbie embarrassing herself”

I laughed.

“So I propose we all go and rest, meeting at the yard at four?”- Finn asked- “we will teach her how to fly”

" Thank you all" - I pulled them all close and hugged them-

Everybody nodded and a little bit after the guys went out. I looked at girls.

“There is something more”

“More?”- Kali looked at me-

“Turns out I know Lucifer for a while now”

Someone took a deep breath.

“Why do I feel you are not going to say like a friend”- Ever said looking at Kali-

“Well you are right there. Lucifer.. I don’t even know what to say on that subject.”- I laid back on the bad-

“Do you like him?”- Kali asked-

“I don’t know.. It’s so complicated. I tough I do like him but .. it’s not important anymore”

“How come?”- Ever asked-

“I just ... never mind”- I got up and went to the bathroom to shower.-

When I came to the bathroom, I leaned against the door taking deep breaths in. What will I do? I mean I do like Lucifer but I will not accept this. This must be the thing Azazel spoke about, Carries big plan to gain more power. Of course if I am with Lucifer that makes me very important person in the future of hell. I clenched fists, I knew I wouldn’t like meeting her, but I never thought that she would to something like this to me. Who does something like this to their own child, but then again she probably never really cared for me anyway.

I spent the rest of the day resting and thinking. Around four Kali sat next to me.

“Hey there”

“Hey”

“You’ve been awfully quiet the entire day”

“Well my life sucks so”- I rolled eyes-

“Don’t be like that.”- She hugged me- “I’m sure it will get better”

“How could it”- I nervously grabbed the necklace around my neck and then realized it is actually the one Lucifer bought me-

Kali responded something but I was so in my thoughts I didn’t listen.

Why am I ever wearing this? I grabbed the star shape ready to pull it out but then remembered the moment he gave me it. Dang it, he planned this so well, he made me fall for him and now I am stuck. I took a deep breath still holding the pendant, I am maybe falling for him but I will not accept the contract my mother made with his father. I will find the way to break it.

“Aidee”

I blinked.

“Sorry, I was thinking”

“I said we need to go out the guys are probably waiting”

I nodded and got up, she was already standing in front of her closet picking clothes. I did the same. I ended up putting the black leggings and short sleeve black cropped top. Kali went out and said she will go to the boys. I picked my hair up in high pony- tail while waited on Ever to get dressed. She finally did and we went out.

“Ever”- I looked at her- “are you with Damian?”

“o.o kind off”- she blushed-

“Kind of?”- I looked at her confused-

“Well you know the rule”

I nodded.

“I am just asking myself, because of what I am, what made you looked the other side?”

“I don’t know, haven is great and angels are too but honestly I like the rush I feel when I am with him”- she whispered- “I think it has to do more with a person itself than the species you know what I mean?”

“So if it was any other but he would you fall?”

“I don’t think so”- she grabbed my hand- “look if it helps I think your parents really did love each other at some point and they probably love you too, because you are the only thing they actually have of the other one right?”

“I’m afraid that’s not their case”- I made a face- “they seem to hate each other and me”

“That just can’t be true”

“You don’t know the half of it, he ripped my wings out and she…. “- I stopped myself from saying that-

“It doesn’t matter”-she hugged me- “if it’s like that, I don’t believe it is, but if it is you have us”

“You are really an angel”- I smiled-

She smiled and we continued walking to the yard. The rest are already there. Finn and Damian fought in the air.

“Why are they fighting?”- I asked Kali once we got to her-

“They aren’t “- she laughed- “actually it’s kind of competitive fight, we are doing it on our classes too”

“Why?”- I asked looking at them-

“So we can learn how to fight in air”- Dorian stood next to us- “if we ever need it”

“Great, when will I be able to fight?”

“Lets start small, flying “- he got up in the air-“Kali”

“Try putting your wings together like this”- she showed me-

“Actually”- I flew up- “I managed the going up part”

“That’s something”- Ever got up to us- “Now wave your wings and fly up high”

I did as she asked and waved my wings a few times but it was hard. When I got up Dorian already waited for me there.

“You’re slow”- he made a face-

“Stop it Dorian”- Ever came up- “she is doing great”

“You are acting as bunch of children”- Kali flew passed me- “You need to learn how to land, follow me and try to keep up”- She flew down-

I followed her down, copying her moves. She landed elegantly on the ground while I just landed on my feet.

“I won’t lie, It could be better”- Kali made a face- “but on the other hand at least you landed on your feet not knees.”

“All you have to do now”- Dorian flew between Kali and me- “is practice”

I nodded.

“Who’s hungry?”- Finn asked landing down-

“Me”- Ever landed on the ground- “Lets go grab something to eat”

Everyone nodded.

“Actually”- I stopped- “I will stay and practice a bit, I really don’t want to slow anyone down”

“So dedicated”- Damian laughed-

“Shut up”- I punched him slowly-

“Fine”- Kali smiled – “Lets go eat”- she winked at me-

They went to the cafeteria and I stayed behind trying to get faster on the speeding part of flying up and landing down. I did it a few times until I realised I am being watched. When I got to the ground, I turned around and saw Lucifer not far from me watching me. I turned my head and continued practicing. I flew up and when I came back down, he wasn’t there anymore. I felt frustrated so I continued repeating the same until I felt I was getting a bit faster at this.
