Chapter 10. - Initiation

Kali explained to me how things around here are, we were all studying together angels and demons. They will teach us things and every once and then we will go to earth so we can be tested. Soon the dinnertime came, Kali opened her wardrobe and started picking out clothes.

“Aide, what do you think?”

“About?”- I looked at her-

“This one?”- She picked out a emerald short tight dress on one shoulder-“or this?”- She took out a dark purple jumpsuit-

“Jumpsuit”- I looked at her-

“Are you sure?”

I nodded.

“Good”- she looked at me- “What will you wear?”

“I don’t know”- I got up and opened the wardrobe- “black shorts and pink top?”

“Let me see”

I took it out. She nodded. She started undressing and put on the jumpsuit while I was undressing. We both got dressed and went to the dinner.

“So how is food here?”

“Could be better, you can’t top the Hells food”

“And how is there? In hell?”

“Amazing”- she grinned- “I wished you were a demon you would love it there”

Oh, if you only knew.

“Angels don’t go there?”

“Rarely”- she smiled- “O he is back”

“Who?”

“Dorian, you have to meet him. He will absolutely love you”- she pulled me to some table- “This is our table don’t ever eat anywhere else, they don’t deserve your awesomeness “

I laughed.

“I will be right back, want me to get you food?”

“If you wish”

She winked and went away, I sat at the table and looked around. This place is amazing, I feel so good here, and Kali is awesome if my other roommate is as near as awesome as Kali this will be better than earth. As soon as I thought of earth, my mind went back to Ed. Where is he? Does he even think about me? Kali broke my thoughts. She put a trey in front of me. I looked at her and saw some gorgeous demon by her. The demon had big dark black wings, he was tall, black haired with matching black eyes Adonis.

“You weren’t kidding she is gorgeous”- He said winking at me-

I smiled.

“I am Dorian”- He sat next to me- “so what’s your story?”

“Story?”- I looked at him confused-

“Yea we are all here on Academy for a while now and you just came why is that?”

“Well”- I looked at Kali who sat across us- “my parents.. We are living on earth, and I didn’t know about any of this”

“Are you kidding me?”- He said opening a yogurt –

“Not at all”- I looked at my tray-

There was an apple, yogurt, mac and cheese.

“Mac and cheese?”- I smiled-

“Yea”-Kali smiled- “I though you need something familiar so”

“You are awesome”

“Oh I know”

We all laughed.

“You have to meet the rest of our friends”- Kali said biting an apple-

“Are there all demons?”

“No”- Dorian said- “we are open-minded unlike the rest“

“So the rest are..?” – I took a bite of apple-

“There are demons and angels who don’t like getting mixed they believe that their species is the better one”- Dorian passed the look at Kali-

Kali just ignored it.

“So most of the demons wouldn’t hang out with me the way you are doing?”- I narrowed eyes-

“Exactly”- Dorian said eating the rest of the yogurt-

“But I thought ... well Ariel and Blaine made it seem that there is harmony between the species”

“Of course they did, they don’t want to admit it”- Kali said-

“Just stick to us little one and we will show you the perks”- Dorian said laughing-

“Hey I’m not a little one”

They both laughed again.

“Really Aideen?”- He raised eyebrows-

He was insinuating the meaning of my name.

“Oh stop it and better tell me when do I get to meet the rest”

“Fine we will”- Kali looked at me- “They will be here in a day, two”

“Oh”- Dorian smiled mischievously- “Tell me your coming on Friday”

“Where?”

“Oh she is definitely coming “- Kali answered-

“I am right here”

“On Friday”- Dorian got closer to me and whispered- “there is a party”

“Really?”

Kali nodded.

“Well why is it a secret?”- I asked whispering-

“The teachers and head masters can’t know about it”- Kali whispered-

“Why?”

“You will see on Friday”- Dorian answered-

“If you say so”

We finished eating and they took me out and then in one of the towers.

“Where are we going?”

“We will show you something”- Kali smiled- “you don’t know how to use wings yet right?”

I nodded.

“Well I think it’s time you learn how”- she smiled mischievously-

“What are you two up to?”- I asked a bit worried-

“Relax newbie”- Dorian laughed-

We got a little bit under the rooftop, there was this huge window.

“The things about flying is…”- Dorian started- “you need to be motivated, it’s not so easy but when you get used to it, it’s awesome”

“Just think of your wings like a part of your body “- Kali added-

“Why are you telling me this?”- I asked looking at them alternately- Kali looked at the window and Dorian still looked at me smiling.

“You want me to? No .. no way”

“Come on Aide, it will be fun”- Kali pouted-

“For you maybe, for me not so much.. this tower is at least ten feet tall, I will be dead before the minute is out”

“No, you will learn to fly, because we will be jumping with you”- Dorian said -

“Come on Aide don’t be a scared cat now”- Kali still pouted-

"If I do this..”- I bit my inner cheek- “I am totally nuts..”- I rolled eyes- “If I die I will come and hunt you too as a really nasty ghost”

“That’s the spirit”- Kali laughed-

I stepped closer to the window and looked down. O, I will so regret doing this. I took another step and jumped down. All I could do is feel adrenaline rush in, I looked down and regretted my decision. I felt the wind in my face and started moving my wings. It was hard, they were so heavy but somehow I stabilized myself in air and I wasn’t falling down anymore.

“See”- I felt Kali near me- “What did I told you? I won Dorian”

“Did you bet on me?”- I asked shocked-

“Yea”- Dorian was standing in front of us- “She bet you would do it and I said there is no way you’ll jump. I underestimated you newbie”- He laughed- “see you down”

"Was this some kind of test?”- I asked Kali-

“Sort of”- she lowered shoulders- “we do this to everyone but only demons dare to jump so you are the first angel to do it”- she smiled- “do you know how to get down?”

O dang it, if I knew that I wouldn’t do it. Looks like keeping a low profile will be hard around here.

"Aideen”- Kali looked at me- “well?”

"No sorry I have no idea”

“Then follow me”- she got her wings together and started to flew down-I tried to follow her but ended up falling. Kali moved gracefully and flew to the ground elegantly while I feel down hard.

“Are you alright?”- Dorian asked laughing- “I’m fine”- I said getting up-

“Nice job newbie, you survived”- Dorian gave me a little push-

“You can’t really die from falling, at least not from that height”- Kali added-

“You two are really crazy”- I said smiling-

“Oh you know nothing yet”- Dorian said with a spark in his eye-
