The Tree House

We march through the door and come face to face with a helicopter and are funneled into the thrumming machine taking a seat and buckling into the seat, Nora reaches over and grabs my hand gently ignoring the harsh glance from Sarah. The Helicopter starts to lift and I tremble a bit in fear, Nora tightens her grip as the helicopter rises higher and higher. I glance out of the open side of the metallic beast and gasp at the height ahead of us a large black curved wall is obscuring the view of everything else. The arena was massive and black. I couldn't even see the other side or over the top.      A spot on the arena seems to peel back and an opening appears, more than big enough for a helicopter to slip through, the helicopter drops through with ease and caries us through a beautiful forest space. The arena was so large I couldn't see the other side of the arena. I gasped at the pure beauty I pull my hand out of Nora's so I can get a better look. We start lowering in a section of thick trees and lands on a small clearing in front of it. We are quickly ushered out and I peek up at the treeline and see a giant massive tree house. I gasp in surprise, looking at the massive house before me taking up multiple trees and thick ladders trail between them.      The helicopter takes off with astounding speed I look up at it and back towards the house. I move away from Nora and Sarah and start climbing the the wooden ladder climbing up into the small opening in the flooring. I pull myself up through the hole and look around at a nicely decorated living room with an attached kitchen and dining room. I look down at my companions and gesture for them to climb up. I go completely through and stand near the opening and help pull the others up. They all look around the area and gasp at its quality. Leather seats and couches adorn the living room and an open large set dinning room is set up attached. A large screen is set up in front of the seats, on it says in big words You May Not attack the Homes or the People Inside. Anything Else is Fair Game. Enjoy the Arena.      I scoff in disgust and walk over to a door. near the kitchen, inside is 5 coats and a letter that says Stay Warm. I scour through the jackets and find a heavy coat my eyes settle on a black jacket with blood red letters on the back spelling out my name. "Hey guys, I found our coats!" I say pulling mine on over my ripped clothing. It swallowed my body in its thick fabric, the others swarm around me and throw on their jackets and sink into it's warmth. Only now do I realize how cold it is here even in the tree house. I soak up it's warmth and sigh happily. I scoot out of the pile of unnaturals and head to the kitchen, it has all of the appliances but no food.      "We may have to hunt for food." I call out to the team as they sink into their coats. I walk over to the other doors and throw one open and  it leads to the outside with one of the ladders. I cross the swaying bridge and it leads to a tree with a building containing to bedrooms and a bathroom. On the doors are Adam's and Owen's names. I race back across the bridge and I let the boys know where their rooms are. They run out of the room like their asses were on fire. Running into their rooms the doors slam behind them and all we hear is Owen yell to us "Check your rooms we got the first packs." he calls and the girls walk to the other side of the house and open the door, less rushed then the boys had been. We cross the swinging bridge and come to the third building I turn and open the door marked with my name. I push past the crimson painted door, and open and look about the room, the medium sized bed with a thick quilt and fluffed grey pillows with the dark red quilt. I run and jump onto the bed bouncing happily on it, it was the first time I would be sleeping in a comfy bed in years. I sigh and roll over peaking over the room. A chest sat at the foot of the bed and closet on the other side of the the room and a vanity sat next to it.      I hoped up and peeked into the the chest and saw a black backpack. I tugged it up and set it on my lap I reach in and find a box of granola bars and a bottle to put water in. I set the materials beside me, I reach in and find about 50 foot of rope coiled up. I dig past and find a belt with a hunting dagger in a sheath attached to it, the belt had other empty compartments as well and was lightweight. I set it aside before reaching further into it finding bathroom essentials and a first aid kit with medicines and bandages. It was well stocked and not what you would find at a local CVS. I stack the stuff beside me on the bed grabbing the last item in the sturdy bag, it was a light hand gun with a thigh strap for easy holding, as well as a box of bullets.      My old partner had always carried a gun with him when we were on the run and had taught me to shoot and handle a gun. I quickly loaded the thing and set it beside me with more ease than I had the other things. I peaked down at the chest and saw folded clothes in the bottom. Three shirts and two pairs of pants sat at the bottom. I was quick to strip out of my ratty clothes and put on the slimming blue jean pants, I grabbed the top shirt and chuckled a bit. It was a fitted black t- shirt with a large printed drop of blood on it, I rolled my eyes and tugged it on. I sighed contentedly at the soft cotton on my skin, I glanced down at the belt before slipping it into my pant loops and attaching the gun to my thigh.      I moved and put the First aid kit on the shelf of my closet hanging my new clothes as well. The closet seemed so large compared to how much was in it. Against the back wall of the closet was a small shelving unite with underwear, bras, and socks, I looked down pitifully at my bare feet before spotting two pairs of shoes next to the shelving I grabbed a pair of socks and slipped on the shoes. I shivered at the cold of the room before slipping the jacket back on.      After a thought I put the granola bars, water bottle, and other supplies in the chest. I used my new hair brush to comb out the unruly knots that I existed with and pull it into a ponytail the greasy strands strained to comply. I looked myself once over in the mirror on my vanity before leaving my new room, no doubtingly the nicest room I had laid eyes on.      I moved to the main room of the tree house and saw everyone already there in newly fresh clothes, chattering as if we all weren't sent into a slaughter. Owen peeked over at me once I entered and gave a wolf whistle, I rolled my eyes "I think the unwashed hair really adds to the look." I say sarcastically fluffing my pony tail. He gives a light chuckle before turning back to the kitchen he seemed to be cooking pork chops on the stove. "I thought so, but what can I say I am attracted to everyone. I got pork chops in my bag, we are eating these tonight and will need to go hunting tomorrow." He says in a light tone going back to his task.     I turned back to the other three, Nora and Sarah were curled comfortably on the sofa while Adam took up an entire chair his eyes closed and leaned back. I eye the girls and peak over to Adams form silently asking what was up. "He is communicating with his brother." Said Sarah quietly as to not disturb the brooding male. I nod my head. "We know where we are going to house him yet?" I ask the girls quietly Adam chose this moment to open his eyes "He will sleep on the sofa until I can make him a bed, I can cram it into my room." He says in a gruff voice. Nora's eyes flashed a moment before a grin took over her face, "Nonsense, me and Sarah will share a room, we had been considering it before because we feel safer with each other but now we have a better reason." She said with a smile. Sarah looked at the girl before forming her lips into a wide smile.      "I don't mean to sound ungrateful or demanding but would you ladies mind switching rooms with me so I can sleep a door away from my brother?" He asked in a softer more polite tone. Sarah goes to say something and Nora quickly covers the girls mouth. "No problem we can start getting stuff moved whenever you want. When are we expecting your brother?" She asks politely. Adam gave a big grateful smile.  "He is sneaking out tonight and based off of the info I gave he should be here tomorrow morning." He says eyeing the clock. I look out the window and see the "Sun" sinking down and the night rising "Is it safe for him to travel alone?" I ask him he eyes me suspiciously as if wondering what I planned on doing to his brother. "He is smart and can take care of himself." He said curtly towards me.     His eyes dropped and widened at my weapons. "You know how to use those or are you gonna shoot yourself in the foot?" He asks in a more normal but still mocking tone. I give him a look that dares him to test me. He gives a shrug "The only other people who got weapons were Owen and Sarah." He says eyeing my gun and knife longingly. I glare at him "Not gonna happen, what did the other two get?" I ask, asking Sarah and Owen the last bit. Nora pipes up missing the tension between me and Adam. "Sarah got an Axe and Owen got a bow." She says still in a good mood scooting closer to sit next to Sarah.      Owen serves out the food and we all dig in hungrily before heading off to move the supplies around so there was space for Adam's brother tomorrow. Switching belongings and supplies and setting up the room for our guest. Tomorrow was going to be an interesting day.
