Chapter Twenty-Four Zurie Cayce looked confused as I closed the door of his truck. I knew he was just as confused as I was. We were on opposite sides, and thinking that we could find some common ground was a longshot. I had deluded myself into believe it could be otherwise for a few hours, but I saw now how stupid that was. As hard as I was trying to be honest about as much as I could, I understood why Cayce would think I was still lying about things. After all, I had left some things out. I didn’t have any kind of hold on Cayce. So, telling him about the way Niko was threatening my family might make Cayce do something that I didn’t think would be safe for them. Meeting Reece had been a good thing, though. I could get him to handle things the way I thought they should be handled. So,
