Chapter Two

BEEP... BEEP... BEEP "Its 6am in the morning, Why the hell is something beeping?" I mumbled. I looked at my phone. Holy s**t its 6am, I have school in an hour. My school started at seven in the morning. I mean who has the strength to wake up really early in the morning just to go to school or even anywhere! I've heard that a study has shown that students brains can't process information early in the morning. Sometimes I wish that I could have home school but I don't want to cause that much stress for my mother, it's better if I face the hell hole today. After the school break I had changed a lot. As a junior I took things too seriously, I tried to harm myself and cry for people who didn't give a damn about me. I had harmless crushes on people who were disgusting excuses for human beings. I had believed them. I thought that I didn't deserve to be in the world, that life wasn't for me. They made me think that I was a disgrace to humanity, now that I look back I simply chuckle at their foolish attempts to making me feel bad about myself. Eventually I got out of my relaxing bed, thoughts clouded my mind as I stood under the cold shower. I wanted to return as a changed person, a person who didn't care about what people thought about herself. I realised that in the end, we can't make it. We could never impress society, no matter how hard we try. Reality will come crashing down, leaving us bare with the hard truth. You don't just randomly just wake up one day and decide to love yourself. That was something I didn't realise, I thought that if I changed. Lost weight and placed more effort into my looks would make me love myself. Sure I changed- yet I don't feel like myself. Once I was out of the shower I walked out of my bathroom with an empty mind, I had no idea what to wear, i opened my cupboard and looked through it. I smiled as I realised everything was different, my old clothes were replaced with stylish outfits and casual outfits. Jelissa wasn't joking when she said she redecorated my choice of clothing. There was everything a girl could wish for. From dresses to high heels. I then grab a black cardigan and a pair of white high waisted jeans along with a black turtleneck. Let me tell you something I really hate normal jeans; I think they barely cover my butt however when I wear my high waisted jeans it's perfect. I decided to go for my white airforces. I didn't bother to try for these people today, I skipped the draws full of makeup. Nobody deserved my effort, in the end my effort goes down the drain. Reality sucks truly, people only care for you when you're gone. I then picked out a black tote bag to match my outfit. Once I was ready I gingerly walked downstairs not wanting to wake up my mother. My brother was in the kitchen eating some pancakes, he gave me the cold shoulder as I walked towards the bottle of water. I unscrewed the lid as I took a sip of the refreshing liquid. "It's funny how you think people would treat you differently just because of the way you look." Tyler said throwing me a glare, I ignored him as he stood up. He walked towards me. "Ignoring me because I'm only stating facts? Truly Vanessa grow up, face the world, no matter how you look people will still treat you the same." he retorted. "I changed because I wanted to feel better about myself, instead of being a rude jerk, why don't you appreciate me for feeling better?" I looked at Tyler as he frowned. He grabbed a bottle of water. "I don't want to appreciate you, don't rely on others for making you feel better, just be someone who you want to be not a replica of what people want you to look like." Then Tyler stormed out of the house. What I didn't realise was that he was telling me straight facts. I wasn't myself, I was just a simple replica of what society wanted me to be like that. I picked up an apple and walked out of the door. I realised that Tyler had taken the car, I guess I have to walk again. As I walked to school, I noticed a few familiar faces, I shivered slightly as I reached the high-school that destroyed my self esteem. "She's hot." Didn't say that before? "Damn can I tap that?" I think the f**k not. "She's looks like a slut" A girl with a whole load of makeup on said. Bitch at least my face isn't caked like yours. Guys were openly checking me out while some girls were glaring at me. I truly don't understand anyone, before when I used to walk into school, people would trip me and call me names. Now that I look slightly better guys stare at me whiles girls glare at me. What happened to girls praising each other? Crinkling my nose I walked on, two find two guys. Xavier Jackson, the guy I met at the airport, he's still the same charmer as he was in junior year. Beside him was a really happy brunette boy- he's way too happy for his first day back at school. I need his enthusiasm and charisma. They both noticed me looking at them and the boy beside Xavier decided to talk first. "Hey." The guy I've never seen in my life said, with a kind smile. "You!" Xavier looked at me in realisation. "Yes me." I said as Xavier frowned. "What's your name?" He asked. Doesn't he remember standing in the sidelines watching me get bullied by other people? He used to ignore me a lot, I was just Tyler's dumb old twin sister, the girl everyone hated. "Vanessa." I said as he looked at me kind of shocked. Hunter walked forwards, reaching his hand forward to shake mine. "I'm Hunter." he said politely, he is so sweet. "Hello Hunter." I said ignoring Xavier. "Hi." he responds adorably, I chuckle as he slightly blushes. "I'll be leaving now, don't want to keep Jelissa waiting." I said before waving them off. "Byeeeee!" Hunter shouted. Gosh he's so cute I want to squish his cheeks. I don't know which cheeks though- I'm kidding. Now time to get my timetable. I walked into the school. For flips sake I bumped into a wall, I must be looking so stupid right now. There goes my badass image. I look up to see bloody Zachary the bad boy of this school. He was smirking and he wasn't mad. I still won't forget how he was such an ass to me. "So you're the hot girl everyone is talking about." He said looking at me, he just gives me bad vibes. "Yeah and your point is?" I asked him. "Bit too much attitude on your side, chill." he said as I rolled my eyes. "No, I won't chill; I'll be leaving now." I said annoyed. I walked two steps away from Zachary until he grabbed my arm and pulled me back. "Listen sweetheart let me tell you something, If you ever mess with me you better watch your f*****g back." Zach coldly. He ain't playing no more. "Try me." I said bluntly. I left him standing there and walked off. But before I went into the next room I heard something. "Bitch." Zach whispered to himself. I left without giving him a single glance. I walk into English literature and I find Jelissa. "Hey Jelissa." I smiled. "Hey Nessa and may I say you clean up well, girl you look badass." She said impressed. "I wouldn't be like this without you." I said to Jelissa. I'm glad that she's my best friend. I look at Jelissa who was frozen at her seat. What was she looking at? "U-Um you know that Zachary is staring at you." Jelissa shivered. It's just a guy, seriously. "There's really no point of staring." I said loud enough for Zach to hear. "It's hard to not look at someone so gorgeous." Zach commented, typical player words. "Thank you." I said as he leaned on his chair. "I was talking about myself." He said pulling out a mirror. "Seriously." I said as he smirked. "Like I said it's hard not to look at someone so gorgeous, why would I be talking about you?" He said as he fixed his hair. "Clearly you've been lying to yourself." I muttered looking at him. "I can't possibly be lying to myself, I mean have you seen me?" He questioned. "Yeah, trash looks better." I said as he placed his mirror in his bag. "So you're saying you look better?" He asked. "Huh?" I said confused. "You said trash looks better, pretty arrogant of you to talk about yourself like that." He said as I rolled my eyes at his stupid joke. "Haha, really funny." I said sarcastically. "Wasn't trying to be funny." He mumbled. "Good for you." I said as he grabbed his phone out. He didn't say anything as he started to text on his phone. I turn around to see Jelissa with a shocked face and then she recovers and wiggles her eyebrows. "Omg did you and Zachary just flirt?" Jelissa said in awe. "No." I said in disgust, he irritates me. "Clearly flirting." Jelissa said as I rolled my eyes. "Who cares? He probably does it to other people." I said annoyed. "No he doesn't, you need to understand that he doesn't do that to any other girl." Jelissa said seriously. I've never seen her so serious but still I don't believe her. "Yeah sure, now let's focus on the lesson." I said as soon as the teacher entered the class. The teacher then took the register. After a few people's names he called out my name. "Vanessa?" "Here." I responded. And the people in the classroom were shocked. "How can this girl be the Fatass?" "Wtf that's Vanessa?" "Damn she's so hot now." "Probably plastic surgery." The girl who said that glared at me as I looked back at her. "Seems like someone knows something about the surgery they had." I said as she looked at me. "What do you mean? You're clearly the one who got plastic surgery done." She exclaimed. "Just like your Mom made you do because she thought you weren't adequate enough to be her daughter." I said as the girl bit her lip. Exactly it's best to keep silent. I felt a piece of paper being thrown at my back, I turned around to find Zach looking at me. I picked the paper up and opened it. You're good - Zach I wrote on the paper and threw it back at him. I wrote 'I know'. He opened it and looked at me and chuckled. This is going to be an interesting school year.
