Chapter Eight

Vanessa's POV "You dating Hunter?" Adrian asked as I looked at him confused. "Why do you care?" I asked him. "Just asked you a simple question." Adrian said as I pulled my Calculus book out. "What if I don't want to answer your simple question?" I looked at him. "God damn it Vanessa, just answer my question." Adrian said clearly annoyed, I rolled my eyes at his rather infantile behaviour. "I don't understand, what will you gain from my answer?" I said as Adrian clenched his jaw. "Perhaps I want to know because I want to." Adrian scowled. "That's not a reasonable answer, certainly not the answer I was expecting." I retorted as he sighed. "Technically I asked you the question first, I deserve a answer." Adrian said as I held myself back from walking out of the classroom. "No, I'm not dating Hunter." I said as Adrian simply nodded his head. "I was expecting a dramatic response but guess a nod is okay." I said as Adrian grabbed a pen out from his bag. "I just wanted to know if you were dating Hunter, is it that serious?" He said as I leaned on my chair. "My question is why do you want to know so bad?" I looked at him intrigued. "Because." Adrian said before pausing. "Never mind." He said going back to doing his work. I didn't understand what his point was? * * * After I got out of the agonising class with Adrian, I walked towards my next class. Biology was one of my strongest subjects. The tension in that class with Adrian, it was weird; quite infuriating; I didn't understand why he was so inquisitive, he didn't seem like the one to be curious. "You again." I heard a familiar voice, it was Cameron; the guy I met yesterday in detention. He was actually really good looking, I didn't like him in that way but honestly he was hot. "Yup, me." I was rather puzzled on how to answer that. Cameron took a seat next to me as I stared at his hair, don't judge me; it was gorgeous. As soon as he sat next to me I was hit by the smell of his cologne, so strong; yet so addicting. "Are you smelling me?" He asked as I face palmed. "No." I said awkwardly. "Staring at my hair as well?" He said as I bit the inside of my cheeks, I was dying of embarrassment; that too of my own actions. "I hate myself." I said I tied my hair into a messy bun. "Same." Cameron said as he ran his hand through his hair. "How's life?" I asked him. "Shit." He said as I chuckled. "Same." I agreed with him. "Shitty school, shitty atmosphere and ignorant fools." He stated as he leaned back on his chair. "Took the words right out of my mouth." I said as he looked at me. "You're quite a interesting person to talk to." He said as I slightly blushed. "Why thanks, I try my best." I said as he nodded his head. "You're just so much easier talk to then other girls." He said as I slightly smiled. "How am I different?" I said, grinning. "You don't try anything, you just talk to me like I'm one of your friends; have to add that you're a rebel." He smirked as I rolled my eyes. "It was a detentions for lateness." I said as he sighed. "As if." He stated as I groaned. "Why would I lie? I'm actually a good student." I said as he scoffed. "You're too bad." He said as I looked at him. "I'm not." I said as he rolled his eyes. "Quite the rebel in my eyes." He said as I smiled. "Really? In your eyes as well." I slightly flirted, I suck at it. "In my eyes you're gorgeous." He said as I blushed. Smooth. "Now that was smooth." I said as Cameron leaned on the table we were both sitting on. I stared at his muscles, they were practically huge. What does he even do? "I've been told I was smooth." He wiggled his perfectly arched eyebrows. "You sinner." I said as he chuckled. "I've only bedded a few." He said as I rolled my eyes at his behaviour. "Player, I see." I said as he smirked. "You could say that." He said as I chuckled. "I could say a lot." I suddenly blurted out. "Like what." He looked at me. "Forget what I said." I said as I covered my face in embarrassment. "Tell me." He pressed. "Why would I?" I asked him. "Is it bad?" He queried. "No." I stated. "Then it must be good." He said smugly. "No shit." I said sarcastically. "Tell me." He repeated. "That you're hot?" I asked him. "I know that." He said bluntly. "I was joking, you're ugly." I said as he gave me a 'Are you serious look?' "Lie to yourself, it's not good Vanessa." He said. "I'm not lying, you're okay; I've seen better." I said, crushing his ego into pieces. He gave me a straight face. "Really?" He questioned. "Yes really." I stated. "Have you experienced anything with those people you've seen hotter than me?" He asked me. "No, I just said I've seen better." Well this conversation took a very weird turn. "Want to experience something?" Cameron asked me. "Uh, I don't know how to answer that." I said as he leaned towards me. I slightly moved back, causing the chair to screech; leading the whole class to turn back. Cameron chuckled as I turned red. After a few seconds people gave me weird stares but ended up turning back to face the teacher. "You weren't serious, right?" I asked Cameron. "Maybe, maybe not." He smirked.
