CHAPTER 003

1315 Words
SHEILA'S' POV (PAIN ) I try to move backward from Ben, but Father's Knight comes forward and straps me to a chair. I screamed at the top of my lungs as the blade ran through my back, and I collapsed on the chair. Soon I felt my blue blood trickling down my side. If looks had lethal power I would have been dead and buried because of the deadly glare I'm getting from everyone in the room The room is suffocating with tension I felt my life flash in my eyes as the second blade ran on my back, My hands were trembling on their own. “She's a descendant of evil” Ben's baritone voice sounds throughout the room. And the murmurs and whispers resume again. My heart starts beating fast. “She's a Demon” his voice is strong and full of conviction. “Thanks to the moon goddess,” My stepmom chimed, “ who would have believed a demon has been in our midst all this while. “You knew all this while and still stayed, knowing you don't belong here Sasha sneered, “Are you that dumb?” she spat, her eyes bulging. I slowly got to my feet, and everyone was moving away and looking at me like I'd grown two heads. "Who would have thought the late Luna is a w***e?" I hear one of the guests say. "To think many ladies looked up to her," another responds. I rise to my feet, assessing the marks caused by the blades. I move forward to Father, who's been standing there without saying a word, and fall to my knees, tears streaming down my face as I grasp his leg. "Please, father, what's going on?" I was barely catching my breath. "What does he mean I'm a demon? That I don't belong here?" But he just stood there, his eyes glazed over, staring absently into space. "Are you deaf?" can't you hear that your mother was a w***e? He's not your father!" Sasha yells, her feet kicking into my side, making me groan. I use my hands to clutch my ribs in pain. I continue to plead with him, but he doesn't even spare me a look. The door burst open, revealing some of the knight's packs. “You sent for us,” Said Sir Leon, the knight's Commander, as they hit their staff of unity on the floor in submission to Father and the elders. “Let's hear from our Alpha,” Elder Wood said, gesturing towards Father. “Lock her in the dungeon, after the feast, let her execution ritual begin,” my stepmom snapped, but they did not carry out her instruction. She gives her father a wicked look and father nods to the knights to do as she said “Yes, Alpha.” They hit their staff of unity on the floor, and soon, two knights were at my side, each dragging me by the arm. “Please don't do this, I begged over and over, but they weren't listening. I have witnessed a few execution rituals when some rogues were found roaming around, and I know how horrible it is. “Say one more word and that would be your last,” Sir Leon threatened, and I kept mute. “Please, father, say something,” I sob silently. They drag me through the narrow corridor, their fingers digging deep into my flesh, we descend a flight of stairs, my legs sweeping the rough floor. We approach a heavy iron door, and it bangs open, revealing a dark, cramped cell reeking of mold and decay. The warriors tossed me in, and I landed on the cold floor. I bit back a groan as I crawled to the edge of the wall, my eyes adjusting to the faint light coming from the small barred window above me, just then, Sasha catwalks in wearing a mocking smile. “Which is better: taste for overly used men or taste for losing their men and their lives?” She starts to laugh and walks over and cups my right cheek “Don't worry cupcake, Mother and I would show Father and your Julian what strong women feel like,” “Babe!!! Julian calls and walks in, “I have been looking for you everywhere, what are you doing here?” Sasha rises to her feet and wraps herself around him. “I'm just saying my goodbyes, I know we don't get along, but she's still my sister and I'm going to miss her. she says, wiping her imaginary tears. Julian stares at me for minutes his face is completely neutral, there's no trace of pity on them. “It's not your fault baby, it's her fate ”his words ignite my soul like a firework and more blood drips out from me "I feel my life drifting away from me as they both walk out, leaving me alone with the echoes of their laughter.". Minutes turn into hours, and apart from my shallow breathing, I hear and see nothing. I yawn continuously as my stomach growls, having had nothing to eat before the whole drama started. At first, I thought it was my imagination, or perhaps a trance, when I heard the unmistakable voice of my father. “Sheila!! “Father?” I call back weakly. “Stand up,” he says, opening the door. I slowly get to my feet, my eyes searching for any other figure that might be coming. He helps me out of the cell and hands me a bottle of water and I gulped it down in a minute “Are we running away?” I ask with the little strength left in me. “Yes, he replied, I have failed your Mother, I won't fail you…. I take a deep breath as he leads me up the stairs, but instead of the narrow corridor, we take the back stairs. “How did you fail Mom?” He stared at me for a while, his voice strained. “I couldn't father a child, the pack wouldn't want an Omega as Alpha, I had to act fast or lose my position, so I talked her into a one-night affair with your father” I stopped walking. “I'm sorry, Sheila,” he says, shaking his head solemnly. I have never been shocked like this before, I close my eyes against the dizziness trying to take over my body. “So Sasha is not your child?” I asked, sniffling, because of the amount of crying I had gone through. He keeps quiet, his silence deafening, and then slowly he nods. “Why then did you marry her Mom?” Do you love her?” Why are we the only ones running away?” They also don't belong here. She will tell the pack that I betrayed them. That I sealed your blood knowing they would find out during your acceptance ritual that you are not my biological child. I sought her help to seal your blood; she's a powerful…. A powerful what?” He remained mute. Then I saw it in his eyes, that absent-minded gaze. That evil woman certainly has done something wrong to father. “We have to hurry I whisper But he does not respond. “Are we not running away again?” I ask, my tears threatening to spill over, if someone had told me my life could change to this within a year, I wouldn't have believed it. After a moment of silence, I throw my arms around him, but he stands still under my touch. “Be safe, I mouthed, and feel his tears drop on my arms. I hold him tighter. “Go to Green Haven, he gestures to my left direction.” You will find your father there,” Soon, I'm watching his retreating figure blur into the darkness.
