When I awoke, the numbness I had felt after falling in the river was long gone. And in its place I felt searing pain as my body trembled in shock.
I was frozen and damp, like I had just emerged from the river..
I reached up to feel the wound on my neck was now, once again gaping... it had returned and was still gushing blood..
