Just as we put away the cauldron, there’s a sudden rustling noise nearby. We all freeze, while Silver turns his ears backwards in an alarming way. We wait in silence, as the rustling spreads all around us. We exchange a few quick glances and immediately position ourselves into a circle, with our backs inwards. That way we’re all covering a part of the trees around the clearing and carefully watching if anything or anyone appears from behind them. I am positioned right between Silver’s thigh and my father’s shoulder, my eyes jumping from one end to another. The rustling stops somewhere close, but I don’t know where. It sound like it’s around the part that I’m covering. In the next moment, something big and winged pounces from behind the trees, heading directly towards me. Startl
