Olivia woke up early the next morning, feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement. She had spent most of the night going over different outfits in her head, trying to decide what would be the perfect balance of casual and cute for a walk in the park.
After settling on a flowy sundress and sandals, she headed out to meet Henry at the park.
He was waiting for her near the entrance, a small bouquet of wildflowers in his hand.
"Good morning," he said, smiling at her as she approached.
"Good morning," Olivia replied, feeling a blush rising to her cheeks at the sight of him.
They walked together in comfortable silence, enjoying the warm breeze and the vibrant colors of the flowers all around them.
As they reached the new flower bed, Henry gestured for Olivia to take a closer look.
"I heard they planted some really interesting varieties here," he said, his eyes sparkling.
Olivia nodded, feeling a rush of appreciation for his passion.
"It's beautiful," she said, bending down to smell a particularly fragrant blossom.
As they continued to wander, Henry pointed out different flowers and plants, explaining their origins and uses.
Olivia found herself hanging onto his every word, captivated by the way his face lit up when he talked about something he loved.
They paused by a small pond, watching as a group of ducks swam lazily by.
"This is my favorite spot in the park," Henry said, glancing over at Olivia.
She smiled back, feeling a sudden urge to reach out and touch his hand.
Just then, a loud sneeze interrupted the peaceful moment.
Olivia turned around to see a group of teenagers, all of them laughing and joking around.
Henry frowned, his hand clenching slightly.
"I'm sorry about that," he said, glancing at Olivia. "Sometimes it feels like we can't even escape noise and distractions in a place like this."
Olivia shrugged, feeling a sudden pang of disappointment.
"It's okay. I guess we'll just have to find a quieter spot next time," she said, forcing a smile.
Henry's expression softened.
"Next time?" he repeated, his eyes lighting up.
Olivia felt a rush of happiness flood through her.
"Yeah. Next time," she said, reaching out to take his hand.
As they continued to walk, hand in hand, Olivia couldn't help but feel like she was experiencing something truly special. Something that had been hiding just beneath the surface all along, waiting for the right moment to bloom.
