Chapter 30 Kord The drive to Kevin’s place in South Philly was quick. Kord looked around before exiting the car. Tidy streets, houses well cared for, a few new businesses and restaurants made the old neighborhood shine. This part of town was reinventing itself instead of falling apart. Kord liked the idea of a surprise visit. You never knew what secrets might pop up when a person was caught unawares. Kord knew Kevin was at home and not at work because he’d placed a call to his office and found he’d taken the day off. That didn’t guarantee he’d be in his home but on a day as cold as this, where else would a guy be?
