Episode 20 Matthan honored

Aram's attitude towards Zuriel  became the talked of the servants the whole day. They were glad of the teasing and tickling of the two every time they were together.

Aram, yes, where are we going? Just follow me, you will like it. We frequently go there with my mother and my brother when we were still kids, we hide there from father. Why you're hiding, uh, my father is so strict that we couldn't play so my mother made it for us to have a place to play and that father couldn't find us and he cannot resist my mother's will. She was astonished,  a greenhouse in front of a built in streams was in situ located, the flowers are growing beautifully, the butterflies are flying freely, it has also an aviary of different love birds on the right side of the greenhouse, Aram this is so beautiful, I really like it. Yes my mother took care of this herself, she planted all those flowers and my brother built the aviary to surprise mom. Zuriel so amaze with the scenery, she didn't even heard Aram's speak about his brother. We play all we want without my father's knowledge.

That night the King could not sleep; so he ordered the book of the chronicles, the record of his reign, to be brought in and read to him. It was found recorded there that Matthan had exposed Hodaviah and Jahdiel, two of the King's  officers who guarded the doorway, who had conspired to assassinate King Aram.

What honor and recognition has Matthan received for this? the King asked.

The King said, "Who is in the court?" Now Zattu had just entered outer court of the palace to speak to the King about hanging Matthan on the gallows he had erected for him.

Jammal answered, "Zattu is standing in the court." Bring him in, the King ordered.

When Zattu entered, the King asked him, "What should be done for the man the King delights to honor?" Now Zattu thought to himself, "Who is there that the King would rather honor than me?" So he answered the King, "For the man the King delights to honor, have them bring a royal robe the King has worn and a horse the King has ridden, one with a royal crest placed on its head. Then let the robe and horse be entrusted to one of the King's most noble princess. Let them robe the man the King delights to honor, and lead him on the horse through the city streets, proclaiming before him, 'This is what is done for the man the King delights to honor!' "

Go at once, " the King commanded Zattu. "Get the robe and the horse and do just as you have suggested for Matthan the Lecans, who sits at the King's gate. Do not neglect anything you have recommended." So Zattu got the robe and the horse. He robed Matthan, and led him on horseback through the city streets, proclaiming before him, "This is what is done for the man the King delights to honor!" Afterward Matthan returned to the King's gate.

On the outer court balcony, King Aram and Jammal saw how Zattu is preparing to honor Matthan, he did what he exactly recommended to him. I had this investigated, I made a mistaked on elevating him highly than the nobles. He don't deserves it. I just don't understand why Zuriel gave him important to invites him to the banquet.  I remember Zuriel asked me about the written script Zattu issued, he stamped my signet ring on it. Did you have the copy of that? No I looked into it that day but none of the copy was left, i guess he sent it all through the couriers. Zuriel had a copy she told me but I hadn't seen it yet. The trumpet's blown and Matthan was all set to the city streets. Did you had the survey of the Kish tribes? Yes my lord.

They're living in the suburb of the North Kish, on the mountainside. Kish lead them, he is Zuriel's adoptive father, hadassah her adoptive mother and Matthan's cousin as well. As they've said that, first, Matthan took care of her after her biological parents both died during the war, Zuriel was only ages nine but Matthan left and gave her to Hadassah and Kish after their marriage to take care of her so they adopted her to be their own child. When Matthan and his father Jair's tribe returned to Abarim as the order of Gihon to live there, Matthan went to Kish with his mother to see Zuriel. Zuriel is Matthan's father niece, Jair and Abiscus were siblings. So actually they were cousins. Aram's surprising looks worried Jammal. Why is it my lord? Nothing I just can't comprehend why Zuriel keep this a secret. She never told me her relations to Matthan. Anyway just find a copy of what Zattu's issued and find out when he cast the pur. Afterward Matthan returned to the King's gate. But Zattu rushed home, with his head covered in grief, and told Zeresh his wife and all his friends everything that had happened to him.

His advisers and his wife Zeresh said to him, "Since Matthan, before whom your downfall has started, you cannot stand against him __ you will surely come to ruin!" Everything you planned to kill Matthan is now ruin for the King gave him honor, he is now untouchable! You should have a revised plan, in order to make them better or more suited to how things are.

While they were still talking with him, the King's eunuchs arrived and hurried Zattu away to the banquet Zuriel had prepared. Everything Zuriel had laid on and told Perez to do on the banquet was all set, he prepared one gold goblet for the King and one silver goblet for Zattu and the rest goblets are purple. The dinners table was full of expensive foods she ordered from other country. The setting is luxuriously furnished and carpeted. The wine was exude a quality and have great extent, expensive and ordered from the middle east of Hepher. Perez made this banquet extra ordinary the way Zuriel prepares to.
