Dragon Bound

Chapter 38

There was commotion outside of Dante’s cell, well not immediately outside his cell, but in the same building, he could hear the disruption and feel the unrest in the air, he really wished to know what was happening since it was serious enough that even the guards placed in front of his cell and those place at the corridor were nowhere to be found.

He tried harder to listen some more but his human form was limited in the way it could maximize his dragon’s ability, if only he could bring his hands together to form a seal or even bring the fingers of one hand to form a half seal, but then those that imprisoned him knew of his abilities and how he excelled at seals both of two hands and of one hand as well.

His shackles contained a wrist shock to prevent wrist movement and finger braces to prevent even the slightest flicker of his fingers because quite frankly, anything less and he would have broke free already, his food was passed in form of fluids to him through a pipe just above his head, all he need do to eat was place his mouth in the hose and suck down the fluids, the same system was used for his passing out of waste, two different sized pipes ran down into the earth and out somewhere else, one in his front and attached to his organ and the other behind and plugged in his anus.

There was no way the WIC would take any chances with him, they know him, since they molded him, they know pf how he could single handedly bring down crime organization and rings, he had done such at their behest, so they knew of the time he brought a whole facility down along with all twenty plus goons and thugs, this was after they caught him and thought they had really captured him.

The WIC heads know they lost immensely as Dante and Dai both, brother and sister left their side and turned against them, this is why it would never occur to them to eliminate them, not until they’ve tried all means possible to get them to come back, be it by means of serum, torture, brainwashing, experimentation even.

The way these two people had maximized their abilities was the first of its kind from the new generation dragons, there were hardly any other dn mutants who could do what they could do with their dragon and their dragon abilities whilst in human form.

This was why they had Dante bound in so many ways to prevent any possible activation of his abilities, but Dante being Dante had been searching for a way ever since he was bound, now though hearing the commotion he felt he could actually get a chance here for an escape.

While he was still scheming though, the guards suddenly returned in a rush, they had a frightened look on them, he couldn’t really see faces but then, he could feel the fright oozing from them just as he felt the commotion that had ensued earlier, this was the most his abilities allowed him to do thanks to how much trouble the WIC went to ensure he was well bound and unable to use any of his abilities.

“Hey! What’s going on?” He asked the guards in front of his cell, he could actually hear one of them panting hard to show how scared he was, Dante listened closely and could hear both their heartbeats beating hard against their chests, this started to get even him worked up, what could scare them so much that they were close to pissing their pants, what or who?

“C’mon answer me! What’s going on out there?” Dante demanded once again, he couldn’t really shout at them as he wished to because of the strap on his head and face, there was even a teeth guard between his teeth to prevent him from either biting himself or gnashing his teeth together, it was rumored that he had once used his teeth alone against a battle with five others because both his arms and one of his legs had been broken before the battle, but then it was just a rumor and even at that the WIC wasn’t still taking any chances.

“Answer me dammit! you cowards! You two bit, good for nothing, shitfaced, assholes…” Dante cussed and would have kept going if the one that had been panting hadn’t suddenly faced and banged his weapon against his cell.

“Shut your hole…!” the guard said in a strained whisper “Or I’ll plug it for you, permanently…” he said and quickly stood in his normal position once again.

“Don’t be in a hurry” the other one said without moving “This all still revolves around you, you’ll be glad to know that won’t you, cos you like it when things are about you, don’t you?” He finished and remained silent after.

Dante actually started to get angry, he made a mental note to himself, when he breaks free, he will make sure he kills them both first, he will ensure his smirk is the last thing they both see.

As he was making his mental note though, a feeling drafted to him like a soft breeze and his eyes widened, he almost choked on his own sputum as he tried to swallow and breathe, ‘this feeling, this presence’ he thought to himself in a bit of a panic, no wonder the guards were scared out of their wits, no way, it couldn’t be her.

But it was her, as he became sure when the gates leading to the corridor of his cell opened and a couple of people started coming towards his cell, ‘no way, no way’ he kept thinking even though he was now sure she really was the one approaching his cell, her presence overwhelmed that of those around her and the pressure travelled way ahead of her, he was sure this was intentional on her part, a way to keep people abreast of her presence and informed of her powers.

They came to a halt in front of his cell and then the gate swung open, and Dante found himself face to face with Artemis, twin sister to Apollo just like the Greek gods on that these siblings weren’t gods, if anything they were demons, favored children of the devil himself, the man in white, Allister Blanco.

“Well, well, well, this is a sorry sight” Artemis said to Dante “Oh Danny Dan, why did you bring this upon yourself? You that had been given everything, you who had no life before but was granted one, tell me, why did you choose to throw all that away?” she asked ruefully, one would think she was indeed sorry and sad but Dante knew batter and stayed silent, one thing that helped was that he was still in shock that she had come here personally to see him, something really good or really bad must have happened and if he knew better which he did then there was no way it could be the former.

“Hmm, the silent treatment uhn? Well that is just rude y’know, well, I have got tons of things to say to you aiit? You’ve got time right? You’re not busy are you? Well I’m sure you aren’t going anywhere” She said to him and giggled like a child, some of those with her chuckled as well, it was then Dante looked away from her to them, there were four of them and he knew them all, two were Artemis' best female friends, they were almost always together, and the remaining two were like her personal guards, normally she wouldn’t go about with them in trail but seeing as it was him they were coming to see, he could see why she’d take that extra precaution.

“Now, now, Danny Dan, don’t be rude, and look always look at me when I’m talking to you!” Artemis said hotly and followed with a hot slap as well across his face, the slap neither came as a shock, nor did it rattle him, he only wished the guard in his mouth could allow him to spit so he could spit out the blood that welled out in his mouth from the slap.

Dante looked at her face and for the first time he actually noticed that she wasn’t pleased, usually she had a devilish evil cherry smile about her, this shows she is in a good mood and is pleased, but right now, her beautiful facial features held a really dissatisfied expression albeit it was still coated with an evil smile, Artemis hardly ever frowned.

“There we go, you are an obedient little lizard aren’t you, now I would advise you to keep on being obedient and answer the questions I’m about to ask you, I don’t want to get all aggressive and violent with you now, I really don’t like it rough y’know” Artemis said and her demeanor only kept getting darker.

Dante couldn’t care less though, he was over his shock and was content, anything that dissatisfies one of the highest ranking members of the WIC was enough to give him contentment, besides, he most probably knew nothing of the issue she is about to say to him, after all he had been in captivity for more than a month now, so he was sure he couldn’t have any relevant information as regarding whatever brought her here, at that he started to steel himself and his resolve, he was going to see her aggressive side yet again once she realizes that he had nothing to offer her.

“Five prison facilities were attack this week, all in one day, all perfect jobs, and all prisoners liberated, I need information on this operation, who are the others behind it, what other plans do they have, where is the next place they intend to hit, most importantly, where are they hiding, because for them to have freed so many people meant they have facilities as well large enough to hold them, they wouldn’t have troubles with supplies either seeing as a large warehouse of supplies of ours was hit as well just a few days before that, so tell me so I can go put a stop to this futile effort and save us all from the headache it’s causing” Artemis said all at once, she wasn’t in a rush, she just couldn’t really get her composure right whenever she is such a dissatisfied state, after all she wasn’t used to being dissatisfied.

Now Dante had a couple of questions himself, the first was, ‘What in the actual f*ck?’ he actually didn’t even know where to begin, he considered not answering but then.

“Let me start by saying, Hello Artie, it’s been a minute hasn’t it, and then I’ll finish by saying I have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about, allow me to add as I ask, why would you think I was involved in this, after all you mentioned that all these happened a few days ago, and last I checked I have been here for more than a month” Dante answered and then smirked.

The expression on Artemis’ face was priceless, exactly what he had intended to get fro her when he used her embarrassing nickname to call her, she really hated being called that, faster than his eyes could follow another slap sounded across his face.

“Don’t call me that and don’t play games with me, how would you not know about it when the only notable name that it all centers about; the person that has been found to either be at the forefront of it all or the orchestrator is none other than your daughter, Ryoka” Artemis said.

Dante got another shock at that statement, Ryoka? Definitely they must have that information mixed up, she had to be in hiding by now with Dai, his sister after all it was she that he sent to get her after they got separated, and there was no way Dai could have put her up to this, and there was even no attack resources or plans that were in her disposal, so how come it was his daughter that was leading a revolution against the WIC, the information made him feel all sorts of things from pride to fear.

Artemis started to laugh at that point “Oh my, look at your face, you really don’t know?” she asked after seeing the confusion and shock registered on Dante’s face, he hadn’t meant for the expression to be so obvious on his face but he couldn’t just help it.

“Hmm, so this means there is someone else at play here, but who could it be? Dai? Surely she couldn’t have put your daughter up to this could she? but then we discovered that the very first place that was hit by your daughter was a laboratory facility that held just one person being used for experimentations at that time, Adrian, the son of your dear sister, so maybe it really is she who is the mastermind behind all this, putting your daughter to work and probably they hit those five facilities looking for you, hmm, I guess I’m satisfied with this information for now, You won’t tell me anything more would you? Seeing as it’s your family themselves that put themselves up to it, oh I’ll have such a delight snuffing out the life out of them all one by one, and then I’ll come back for you” Artemis said and made to leave

Dante was still a muddied mix of emotions, he didn’t know which to hold on to and use, but he was sure of one thing “Artie, I’ll tell you one thing, if it really is Ryoka that is at the forefront of this revolution, then be scared, be very scared, you think Dai and myself are dangerous and powerful, you think Laura is dangerous and powerful? Well you haven’t seen anything or anyone like Ryoka before now” he said and fell silent once again.

Artemis spun and delivered a really strong blow to Dante’s jaw, she righted herself and the expression on her face was nothing short of a murderous rage, “You think I should be scared of her!? well she should be the one that should be scared of me!? Don’t worry, I’ll bring her parts here for you to see once I’m done with her and the rest” Artemis said on a final note and left along with her gaggle.

Dante smirked as the gate to his cell swung closed and the guards bolted it shut once more, the last blow Artemis delivered had been what he needed, the guard between his mouth had been dislodged from that blow, finally, now he could bring truth to the rumors about him.
