Dragon Bound

Chapter 53

“Are you absolutely sure?” Adrian asked Ryoka yet again as they all stared at the rough miniature build up of the facility that Ryoka claimed Dai was being held, it looked nothing like any other facility that belonged to the WIC, in fact it looked too ordinary, and according to her, there were no security protocols in place that she noted, and now, even though she couldn’t connect with Dai directly, she could stay at the edges of her subconscious for a short while just to get a few bits of info, this was how she totaled the whole of the info she had given to the group so far.

This mission unlike the dragon queen’s mission wasn’t open for all, only a few members who seemed interested and would be useful were chosen to join this mission, Dante himself was leading the mission, he had suspected that the facility was probably a kind of smokescreen, he guessed it was probably made to look weak and defenseless so that it wouldn’t be worth anything to anyone who would try to attack the place, but he was fairly sure there must be something of great value hidden in there, Ryoka suspected it had to be that technology they were using on Dai, probably it was a new and sure way to get dn mutants or even the special generation dragons under complete control of the WIC, to this Adrian agreed.

“There is no doubt about where she is dear brother” Ryoka replied Adrian to sooth his worries, “What I fear is that she might already be under their control, I say this because each time I go check on her using draugh fuh to gain access to her subconscious, she is always in a free and relaxed state, she doesn’t have the feel of someone being held prisoner, besides, the fact that I can’t reach he properly with draugh fuh could mean another controller agent is active and powerful in her already, the dream I had might very well be another testimony to that fact as well, so we would actually mostly probably face her in battle as well if the control they have over her is total” Ryoka informed them all.

“Well, we can’t take a large force either ways, all we can do is have a contingency plan and an extra team on ground to be just a few clicks away from the main team should in case there’s need for a larger force after all” Dante said, he had selected five people for the main extraction, himself, Ryoka, Adrian, Letty and Caleb, and a ten person team made up the extra team to include the rest of the siblings as well, Dante reckoned they would all want to meet their mother after all.

They were set to go by the next day, and continuous preparations were being made, Adrian for one couldn’t wait till that moment when he would hear her scold him again especially for his acting out and lone rebellion that had gotten him captured in the first place, he dreaded the idea that they might have to battle her as well, she was a force to be reckoned with when it comes to combat, there was a time when she had taken on all her children during training, suffice to say she whooped their asses and he had been the second to the last person to fall, Letty had been the last.

Secretly Dante also didn’t want to battle his sister, it had been very long since that happened, just the one time that they fought, it had been brutal and as at then they had been very young, now they had age and experience to add to their skill sets and abilities, in truth though, he might be the only one who could take her in combat, but then if they fought while she was being controlled, that means she’ll fight with everything she’s got, that would cause a whole lot of devastation and destruction, the last time they fought, part of a small town had been reduced to rubble.

All in all, they all had one determination, that no matter what happens, no matter the situation, they had to get Dai out of there, even if that means they had to bound her up or knock her out in a way, or even if they had to fight with her to achieve their aim, after going over the plans a couple more times, the group disbanded to regroup very early the next day and take off to kick start the mission.

They all went to the small town by air, in dragon form, holding their packs of clothing and weapons in their giant claws, they landed just a few clicks away from the facility and trekked through a dense forest with tall trees to get there, where they landed was where the second ten man team would stay and lie in wait should in case the contingency plan is needed after all.

The extraction team moved into the town and scattered strategically in ones and twos heading from different directions towards the facility, they all noticed one thing, the town was way too ordinary for it to be under any significant influence from the WIC, it had a sparse population and everyone minded their businesses, although as a back thought, this could be what the WIC planned for it to be, it could all be part of the smoke screen effect after all.

The team got to the facility without any incident, and breaking in was even much more easier in the sense that they didn’t need to break in, the doors were opened and the windows were ajar, Ryoka point at the direction of which she felt Dai was and Adrian took point from there, charging on with the others in tow.

Dai had been feeling cringingly all day, it felt as if someone was looking at her all through since the morning of that day, even before then, she had been feeling a presence watching her, ever since the day she had been under Charlie’s machine, because of this as well she had been able to access her dragon to an extent, not fully, but she is now able to use her dragon’s speed and strength, she hadn’t told the couple yet because she herself wasn’t sure if it was because of the machine or her own natural healing process, Charlie had said the machine didn’t work after all, but then again he could be wrong as well.

Sarah was is there with her, about to take some more samples for some more test, she had a small silver tray with her where the instruments she wants to use are, as she neared Dai, a powerful kick drove the door open by force, enough force to tear it off one of it’s hinges, Sarah flinched and dropped the tray in her hand but there was still a syringe there which she had picked by pure instincts.

Adrian burst in after the door with rage in his eyes, the rage doubled when he saw Sarah holding a syringe and going near his mother, he moved in an unearthly speed and grabbed her by the neck then hoisted her up with it, “Stay away from my mother!” he yelled at her and tightened the grip he had on her neck.

Dai moved as well in a speed that matched Adrian’s and before he knew it, he had been knocked sideways and Sarah had been snatched from his grasp, Dai backed up into a corner, Sarah was behind her coughing and holding her neck where Adrian had held her, at that point the others came in, Ryoka first, then Letty, then Caleb, and finally Dante, who held Charlie by the scruff of his neck, they had quickly scoured the whole building and found no one else except him.

“What now?” Adrian asked glancing at Ryoka and Dante, “Do we have to fight her?” he asked totally unsure and a bit unsettled, it had come to the point where they had hoped it wouldn’t, Dai was defending the enemy.

“Why the hell would you do that? You insolent little sweet boy” Dai said to Adrian with tears in her eyes, they all got confused at first but Dai chuckled “I couldn’t let you harm my rescuers now could I? they saved me, I owe them both my life, so no harm may come to them while I live and I’m there, and Dan, you had better not have roughed up the doc in your hands, you’d totally hear it from me” Dai said still brimming with emotions, she was sure that she wasn’t dreaming, her family was here, as unbelievable and impossible as it seemed.
