Chapter two: Mate!

Redrine’s POV

I sat I front of the mirror as they get my hair done, I've been thinking of how to get myself out if this mess. I can't see him, not when he promised to kill me.

“Mrs Scarlett, you know why I can't attend the party. Please” locking eyes with her through the mirror.

“I don't understand why you are scared, he won't even recognize you. It's been how many years? 10? He won't remember you”she tried to convince me but I know better.

My rare green eyes always sells me out everytime, it's the only thing I inherited from my father apart from the betrayal tag he left me.

I touch my neck for the necklace my mom gave me, that the only thing I have of her.

“Your father didn't do it, he never betrayed the pack. You have to believe him and forgive us for not doing better”

Those were the last words she said to me.

“If you're worried about your eyes, that's why I brought this for you” She showed me a black contact lens.

“What's the difference? He'll never forget my face” my heart was beating at twice its pace. How I wish I could think of something to convince her.

The stylist finish working of my hair and I was amazed by the outcome.

“How long has it's been since you washed your hair? You decided to dress like an old hag everytime of the day, looking older than your age when you actually look pretty” She said with disgust but I'm unbothered, I'm disturbed by what tonight outcome will be.

“Let's go, remember you have to smile sweetly and don't worry, you won't be in the main Hall. You'll be attending to the pack members far from the guests,and VIPs” I nodded calmly and followed her out.

We walked to meet the girls waiting on a straight line. We are all wearing the same dress, a pink flared, half length gown that stops a little bit far from our knees.

“I'm sorry” I heard Lucy whipered behind me, I didn't notice she was standing behind me.

“It's fine, you're not at fault.” I told her.

“I am, if only I didn't call your name” she replied.

“I'm okay, you don't have to apologize” I assured her.

“Are you sure? Any attack?”she asked, I'm surprised as my body was calm even though my heart was going crazy. I've not gotten any panic attack since I was told I'll be attending the alpha's party.

“Not at all” I replied placing my hand on my chest and rubbing it gently.

“You're sure? You can play dead or faint now.” She said with worry in her eyes. I smiled at her word.

“If I play dead, Mrs Scarlett will be the one to faint for real” We stared at Mrs Scarlett who was passing information aggressively, then stared back at each other and laugh silently.

I might be the one to die for real. I took deep breath as we walk into the Hall.

Wow, everything here screams luxurious. Blue and gold could be seen everywhere, honestly where I'm standing is far from where the Alpha and his family will be sitting.

Within few minutes the party started, I saw most of the pack members whispering among themselves, probably wondering why I'm here at the Alpha's party.

I've become everyone's enemy since my father was said to have betrayed the pack and cause the death of almost everyone in the pack including…....

“What are you doing here?” I heart skipped a beat before realizing it was a female's voice.

“Grandma, what are you doing here?” I repeated this time in hush voice “You know you're not supposed to be here, How stupid can you be?”

She half yelled cause few people to turn to us.

“I tried okay but Mrs Scarlett refused to let stay back, you don't have to worry about me. The pack members might think of it as something else when they see us standing together” I told her and forced her to leave, she looks so worried as she went to sit with the pack members.

The Alpha's birthday party was the first party I've attended since the death of my parents and I enjoyed myself even though most of the people I attended to insulted the daylight out of me.

The party ended and I only saw the Alpha once all through the party. The sound of music was blaring through the speaker and everyone was on the dance floor, my grandmother left a while ago.

I was staring around smiling when my heart palpitated in something like fear, I heard my wolf, Rose jumped out which was unusual. We've been keeping her a secret with her permission, making everyone believe I have a wolf but I can't transform into one.

“What's wrong?” I asked her as she walk around restlessly “I don't know, I just feel restless and I feel a pull, something is pulling me” She said.

“Relax, maybe we need to run” I told her but she was shaking her head,no

“No, It's getting closer”

“Should we leave?” I asked seeing how she was talking a lot today.

“No, I love the feeling” she giggled and I smile, we are an unhappy wolf but here is Rose laughing and giggling

Right in that moment I caught a sweet peppermint mix with wood smell, Inhale it gently and my heart raced. The hair in my body stood and my heart was jumping for joy.

“Is this it?” I asked Rose “Yes that's it” She answered jumping and giggling in excitement.

The scent got thicker in my nose that I can taste them in my mouth.

I closed my eyes and let the smell and feeling sink as I'm loving it.

I can taste the smell on the tip of my tongue, it's so strong it's gets into my head.

I opened my eyes to see the most scariest eyes, that has always taunt my dream.

Alpha Rembrary

He groan suddenly and roar causing the whole pack to turn to us.

This can't be happening, I yelled to my self but it was like my mind has been separated from my body.

“Mate!” We both called at the same time but his voice was more audible than mine. I heard gaps around us I was caught in the ocean in his blue eyes, they look beautiful tonight and…

I was pulled out of whatever trance I was in suddenly and dragged out by Alpha Rembrary.

I was running behind him as he dragged me with him, walking faster until we are far from the Hall. He grabbed me by my neck, forcing me to looked into his eyes as I gasped at his action.

“What are you doing here? How dare you show your face to me? You think I don't recognize you?, I smell the betrayal blood in you from miles away.

Since when did you know you're my mate? Was that why you showed your face today to ruin my happy day?” he yelled to my face and I shrinked. I couldn't breath from how tight he was holding me.

I said it, I'll be the one to be lying dead at the end of the today.

I was choking, and barely breathing, tears were streaming down my eyes at this point. I knew I was good as dead.

“Rembrary that's enough” A soft female voice echo and immediately his hold lightened a bit. I shifted a bit to see who it was, it turned out the Alpha’s lover, Bethany.

She got closer and placed her hand on his back and like magic, he let me go shoving me aside and I landed on my butt. I placed my hand on my neck, the pack members are all standing there as they watch the drama unfolds causing

more tears to flow down my eyes.

“I want her out of my pack” He said with disdain and anger in his eyes.
