HER CLAP-BACK

Chapter 5

"I want you to run Yvonne both of you, no matter what happens do not go home, stay far away from home, don't tell anyone who you are; these people are very bad".

"But daddy, how about mum?" ."Your mother will be fine," Yvonne inquired of her father.

"Daddy, No. she won't be fine if we all leave her"

"I promise you, your mother is safe, it's my job to keep her safe"

"How can you keep mum safe here? How? Daddy say something" but instead Dad pushed us to leave him.

"Yvonne please go, i won't forgive myself if these people come and meet you here, Matilda take care of your sister, Do not go home"

"Daddy... They both sobbed, Daddy looked at them saying, "Go, I'll get aid, don't tell anyone whom you are, don't forget what i said. Matilda and Yvonne had left their father in tears and set out on a voyage they had no idea about. When Yvonne decided to call their mother while walking through the woods, Matilda and Yvonne realized they had forgotten everything, including their suitcases.

"Matilda, let's head back; I need to grab my phone. Sure.they both agreed and began walking back to their father. "Yvonne look, Matilda fidget as they both got tense, Yvonne almost passed out,"

"Let's hide," Yvonne sobbed as she saw her father's car burn down and those beasts smile broadly

As my father's car caught fire while he was inside screaming for help, Matilda and I were left helpless.Dad's car burnt with my Dad inside Matilda and i just stood there, even in his dying state he still spotted us, shaking his head against us coming out, We cried holding our mouth.

"I love you Daddy" Yvonne whispered

"Who's there? Who's there? One of the g*n men shouted at our direction

We fled for our dear lives in the woods, until we found where to hide. "Keep looking the leader commanded; they're not far" Don't stop looking make sure you find them, Matilda and I shook with horror as we prayed he doesn't see us, they were about four of them. "Split up, look everywhere the leader commanded them again" They were running everywhere their legs stamping on the floor like giants. Unfortunately, one of the men found our hiding place. He has a big scar over his face, a sparse beard, and a bald head. When he glanced at us worriedly, we stiffened up once more.

"What are the both of you doing here?

"We were with our Dad"Matilda answered

"And who's your dad? We don't know where he entered, we missed him, Yvonne lied staring at Matilda who nodded as she got the gig.

"So you're lost? The man asked

"Yes, but we are just looking for..

"Did anyone find them?

The man looked at us again and answered the commander

"No i haven't found them"and then he squat infront of us

"Run, No matter what don't stop, if you're caught you die".

He sounded like my dad, i was surprised.

"Aren't you supposed to be killing us right now? Yvonne asked him.

The man stared at her and shook his head.

"Why are you shaking your head? she asked right, why are you letting us go? Matilda asked him too.

"I'm here to take money for my family not to kill children, besides you should be same age with my son, how old are you?

"I'm eleven and she is Ten. Matilda answered.

"You're smart. Now go you don't have time before they get here.

Before the others arrived, the man let them leave. They gave up trying to find the girls.

"Matilda I'm tired."

"I am too, but you can't stop"

"We have to sit somewhere, I'm so tired" "Okay, let's just go futher a little" .

We wandered through the woods into the night, sleeping outdoors, the open area where actual mosquitoes bit us. We were hungry but had nothing to eat. I never thought I could have this life. I used to be that kid who was always pampered, who never went outside, who had never been bitten by a mosquito, who had everything imaginable, and now, who slept outside in the woods without food. How amazing is life?
