Swirling his liquor in his glass, Oden stared unseeingly outside at the Irish pub, the familiar view not even registering in his saturated mind. There was movement around him, waitresses hustling around serving drinks to the regulars, but thankfully his morose mood must have conveyed the message that he wanted to be alone. All he could think of was Ash’s resistance against his ultimatum, the adversity causing his chest to burn with acridity.
