That left him to wonder whether it was worth the hassle when only four days ago, he’d been unwinding peacefully in his home. You promised Krystal you would back her up, an insidious reasoning crept inside his mind like an unwanted and uncomfortable cape. Inadvertently, he knew that if he let his sister down this time, their precarious relationship would be beyond repair. Wasn’t that why he’d deigned return back? To mend fences with her? Then, why was he letting that damned Samantha bother him like she mattered? He’d long past accepted that she was a bloody back-stabbing hypocrite
