When I heard the door slam shut, I had to turn to stare at Alix.
It had been truly surprised the way she'd spoken to Cherry. I hadn't unexpected that.
No caretaker, or even any worker of mine dared to talk back at my visitors, so when she spoke, it came as a surprise.
“Why did you talk to Cherry like that?” I made an effort to not sound stern, and watched her shrug.
“I don't know what happened between the two of you, but I don't like it when someone tries acting dominant towards me.”
That was a fact I was starting to notice.
Still, what she did was— unexpected and surprising.
“Did I do something wrong?” She asked.
Did she do something wrong? If it was some important visitor, then yes.
But it was Cherry. The female I despised a lot already.
