I had woken up that morning, feeling all energetic inside because I really couldn't wait to tell Triston all the information I'd gotten last night. Sophie had woken up earlier than she would normally do (which was probably because she just wanted to leave quickly). We both tried —and failed— in starting a conversation that'd flow freely like it used to. And so when we knew it wasn't possible, I just waved her goodbye.
