Chapter 4

Ruby's POV

The man's sudden kisses jolted me back to my senses, and I wanted to push him away wondering why he could be so bold with such an act, but a roar did that for me.

“What are you doing with my woman, you prick!” I heard Sergio's thundered voice, and before I could say a thing he charged at Brain landing a punch in his face.

“Ahh!” Brain roared in pain, and that jolted my brain out of my reverie. I could not believe that Sergio was going to hurt his brother.

“Are you crazy, Sergio? Why did you hit him?” I asked to walk towards Brain, but I was pulled back by Sergio.

“I forbid you to go to him,” he says, and I wondered how he thought he could order me around. “Let go of me, right this instant!” I rasped, and Sergio let go of my hand seeing my chilly gaze.

After he let go of me, I walked towards Brain, and helped him up. “Are you okay?” I asked, and he nodded his head.

I noticed that the boy was timid compared to his brother, and I think that I might have picked the wrong partner.

“Why did you…” I was saying, but Nicole's voice interrupted. “Sergio you forgot..” Nicole says barging to the balcony, and I wasn't surprised seeing what she was holding.

She was holding Sergio's coat, which he might have forgotten after leaving the room in a rush. They both looked awkward after Nicole's actions, but I didn't act like I was affected.

“We are going to leave now, you guys look like you have a lot of things to say,” I said, and I helped Brain up.

“You are mistaken, Ruby. We don't have any unfinished talk, he just came to my room to find comfort after what you did today,” she says, and I wasn't surprised she was making it my fault.

That was Nicole's habit of always making everything about you.

“Really? And what does that comfort include?” I asked, and I glared at them both as I made my way out of the balcony with Brain by my side, but he stopped me.

“I want to correct your words earlier, big brother. She is not your woman, she is mine!” Brain declares, and he holds my hand dragging me off the balcony leaving the two stunned.

After we got to the hallway I slipped my hand away from Brain's hand, and I faced him.

“I actually wanted to apologize about what happened earlier at the ball, I don't mean for it to be that way. I don't know I was giving off the impression of you being used,” I said, and the man went silent.

Even though that was my intention in the first place, I never wanted to use him, and seeing how he was looking so hurt while saying it, I felt bad.

“I am sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel…” I was saying because I really didn't mean for that to happen, but he cut me off.

“Why are you apologizing?” he asked to get closer to me, and I felt uncomfortable with how close he was. Looking at him close up, I noticed that he was quite handsome, but not like his brother.

“You don't need to tell me anything, Ruby, I understand and I am sorry if my earlier words overwhelmed you in any way,” he says, and I was grateful for his understanding.

“I should go to my room now,” he says, and turns around to leave, and I turn back to the balcony but seeing Nicole clinging to Sergio makes my blood boil.

I walked back to my room and slammed the door behind me, and I was just a step away from screaming down the house.

“How dare she! How could she be so shameless!” I roared, and my breathing turned erratic from so much anger.

“I am going to make sure to crush you until you beg for mercy, I am going to make you beg until you can beg no more,” I said, and I calmed myself.

I was going to make sure that she regretted messing with me, but before that, I must revise my old memories, there was something there that I felt that I was missing.

“I am missing something out..something so important to my revenge plan, but what could that be?”

I looked at the starry sky illuminated by the moon and a smile made its way to my lips remembering that I was going to transform today.

I walked to the field, and I sighed in frustration seeing what my father did yet again. In my past life, Sergio was present at my transformation even though he left midway, but I thought it was going to be different this time around.

“Why are you here?” I asked the man eyeing him disgustingly, but he just smirked at me. “I heard that it's today, and I am here to cheer you up,” he said, and I sighed.

“Yes, but I don't need you here,” I said, but he didn't say anything which means that he wasn't listening to a word that I said.

“Your father is the happiest,” he pointed out, and I sighed seeing my father at the other end making sacrifices to the moon goddess, and I smiled seeing that people didn't change. He did that in my past life too

“Oh, my sweet daughter,” my father called, rushing towards me, and he gave me a peck, and he encouraged me to be in my best form, and not panic so I could connect with my wolf.

“Let me go and make more sacrifices to the moon goddess so that he could listen to me,” my father mumbled, and revealed it.

“Are you ready to transform?” Sergio asked me with a smile that made him so sexy at the moment, and I sighed because I would forever be weak to his charm.

“Hmm,” that was my simple reply, as I looked ahead of me, but Sergio wasn't stopped with his questions.

“So what are your plans after you meet your wolf, and become stronger?” I asked, and the only thing lingering on my mind was revenge.

“It is really bold of you to ask me that, but since you asked I am going to tell you, it's revenge…revenge on you, and that crazy mistress,” I whispered the last part, but I was sure Sergio heard it.

“What did you mean?” he asked. “Don't worry you are going to know about that soon,” I rasped, but I felt my body tense as the sky became stormy, and the moon was shining brighter than earlier, and I knew that it was time.

“Remember, this moment, Sergio because I am coming for you, this is going to be my rebirth…and a new era is going to commence!” I roared, and my voice echoed through the field, and I felt my bones cracking.
