I slept with my billionaire boss once... and woke up pregnant with twins who have two different fathers.

How is that even possible?

I am Chloe Bennett. Plain secretary. Small apartment. Empty savings account. I spent three years organizing Alexander Sterling's life while quietly falling apart inside my own. One long night changed everything between us, but by morning he acted like I did not exist.

Broken and confused, I went to a dark club to forget him. A man with his exact face, his exact voice, and his exact eyes found me in the corner and pulled me back to life. I thought Alexander finally came back for me.

He was not Alexander.

He was Julian Sterling. The twin brother nobody talks about. The man the Sterling family erased five years ago and buried like a secret.

Now I am carrying one baby for each of them.

When I told Alexander the truth, he threw money at my face and called me a liar. When Julian appeared, he claimed his child and promised to protect me. But protection from a man who once let me believe a lie... is that really safety?

Then the cameras found me. The headlines destroyed me. Victoria Sterling, the ice cold family matriarch, decided my babies belonged to her dynasty and I belonged nowhere near it.

But they all made the same mistake.

They looked at me and saw nothing. A nobody. A secretary with no money and no name.

They had no idea what a woman with nothing left to lose is truly capable of.

Everything is about to change... and nobody sees it coming.

CHAPTER 1: THE COLD DISMISSAL
The morning air inside the top-floor executive suite of Sterling Global was freezing. I adjusted my tight black pencil skirt, my hands trembling as I smoothed down my silk blouse. My stomach churned violently, a fresh wave of nausea hitting me like a freight train. I pressed my thumb against my lower lip, desperately trying to keep my composure. I could not afford to look weak. Not today. Not in front of him. Alexander Sterling, the ruthless CEO of Sterling Global, sat behind his massive mahogany desk. He did not look up from his tablet. His razor-sharp jawline, crisp charcoal suit, and dark hair gave him the appearance of an untouchable Greek god. His heart, however, was made of pure ice. "You are three minutes late, Chloe," Alexander said, his voice deep and smooth. "That is not like you." "I... I apologize, Mr. Sterling," I whispered, taking a slow step forward. I clutched a thick white envelope in my shaking hands. "There was a slight delay." "I do not pay you for excuses. I pay you for results," he replied coldly. He finally lifted his dark blue eyes to lock onto mine. "Hand me the financial reports for the European expansion. The board meeting starts in ten minutes." I did not move. My heart pounded against my ribs like a trapped bird. Just six weeks ago, my entire world had been turned upside down in a single weekend. On Friday night, Alexander had brought me to his private hotel suite after a grueling eighteen-hour workday. We had shared an intense, breathtaking night together. But on Saturday morning, he acted as if nothing had ever happened, treating me like a complete stranger and ignoring my presence entirely. Confused and heartbroken, I had gone to a dark VIP club downtown on Saturday night to clear my head. There, sitting in a private corner booth, I saw him again. Or at least, I was certain it was him. He was warmer, gentler, and pulled me into another night of wild, passionate abandon. I thought he was finally letting his guard down... but I had no idea that the man at the club was actually his secret identical twin brother. Now, six weeks later, three positive pregnancy tests were sitting in my apartment bathroom. "Chloe," Alexander snapped, tapping his pen against the desk. "Are you listening to me? What is wrong with you today?" I took a deep breath, holding the envelope against my chest. "Mr. Sterling... I do not have the financial reports in this envelope." Alexander leaned back in his leather chair, crossing his broad arms. His expression darkened instantly. "Then what, exactly, are you holding?" he asked. "My... my resignation letter," I stammered, my voice cracking under the pressure. "And a medical report." Silence stretched across the immense office. The air grew impossibly thick. Alexander stared at me for a long, agonizing moment. Then, a dark, dangerous smile played on his lips. "A resignation letter? Right before the biggest merger of the fiscal year? Are you out of your mind?" "I cannot work here anymore," I said, forcing myself to stand tall. I stepped forward and placed the white envelope directly on his desk. "I am pregnant." Alexander did not flinch. He simply looked down at the envelope, then raised his icy gaze back to my face. "And why, pray tell, are you handing this to me?" he asked quietly. "Because... because you are the father, Alexander," I whispered, using his first name for the very first time in three years. "Six weeks ago... Friday night at the hotel, and then Saturday night at the club..." Alexander let out a harsh, bitter laugh that echoed through the quiet room. He stood up slowly, towering over me like a dark storm cloud. "At the club?" Alexander repeated, his voice laced with pure venom. "Is that the story you are going with, Chloe?" "It is not a story..." I stammered, tears stinging the back of my eyes. "You were there. You held me. You..." "I was on a private jet to London all day Saturday, signing a five-billion-dollar deal," Alexander interrupted sharply. He picked up the envelope, tossed it into the paper shredder beside his desk, and watched it get chewed into tiny strips. I gasped, covering my stomach with both hands. "Alexander, please..." "Do not call me by my first name," he growled, stepping around the desk until he was standing inches away from me. "I thought you were smarter than this, Chloe. You have been my secretary for three years. You know how much I am worth." He leaned in closer, his blue eyes flashing with anger. "Is this your grand plan? To trap me with a child and secure a payout for life?" The words felt like a physical slap to my face. I trembled, my cheeks burning with absolute humiliation. "I am not looking for your money! I am telling you the truth!" "I have never touched you outside of a professional setting," Alexander lied smoothly, his eyes narrowing into slits. "And if you think you can use a fake pregnancy to blackmail me, you are severely mistaken." "I am not lying!" I cried out, my pride shattering into a million pieces. "I went to the clinic this morning! The doctor confirmed it!" Alexander reached into his jacket pocket, pulled out his checkbook, and swiftly wrote down a figure. He ripped the check out and slapped it against my chest. "There is fifty thousand dollars," Alexander said coldly. "Take it, pack your things, and clear out your desk by noon." He straightened his tie with a look of utter disgust. "If I see your face in this building after today, my legal team will sue you into bankruptcy for corporate extortion." I looked down at the check. The numbers blurred before my eyes. The sheer cruelty of the man standing in front of me cut deeper than any knife ever could. I had served him faithfully for three years. I had managed his life, sacrificed my weekends, and defended him against his enemies. And now, he was tossing me out like garbage. "Keep your money," I said, my voice suddenly turning deadly calm. My shock began to morph into something else... a quiet, burning rage. I crumpled the check in my hand and threw it right back into his arrogant face. "I do not want a single cent from you." Alexander’s eyes flashed with anger as the crumpled paper hit his expensive suit. "You will regret this, Chloe," he growled softly. "No, Mr. Sterling," I said, holding my head high despite the tears spilling down my cheeks. "You are the one who is going to regret this." I turned on my heel and walked out of the office, slamming the heavy wooden doors behind me. Twenty minutes later, I found myself standing on the sidewalk outside the glass skyscraper. The afternoon rain was pouring down, soaking my hair and clothes, but I barely felt the cold. I placed a protective hand over my belly. My phone buzzed in my purse. I pulled it out with trembling fingers. It was an unknown number from the central clinic. I swiped the screen and brought the phone to my ear. "Hello?" "Is this Miss Chloe Bennett?" a hurried voice asked over the line. "Yes, this is she." "Miss Bennett, this is Dr. Aris from the central maternity clinic. We just finished processing the bloodwork and genetic panel you submitted this morning..." The doctor paused, taking a sharp breath over the line. "Is something wrong with the baby?" I asked, my heart dropping to my shoes. "Miss Bennett..." the doctor said slowly, his tone filled with total disbelief. "Your ultrasound shows twins... but the genetic markers in your blood panel show somethin g extremely shocking." He cleared his throat nervously before delivering the final blow. "The babies... they do not share the same biological father."
