Chapter 3 Look, How Green They Are

1857 Words
They went upstairs and ran directly to the Apple Store. "Then I'll pay for the mobile phone today. Don't forget the LV bag you promised." Eleanor acted like a baby, without any aloofness in front of Noah. "Don't worry. You're so good. I'll buy whatever you want if you break up with the loser Noah, let alone an LV bag." "I worry about my reputation. With Noah as a shield, you can always take advantage." The two counters were close. Noah heard their conversation clearly. Before, Noah would definitely be angry and argue with the two bitches. After all, Eleanor was his first love. And she cheated on him. But he felt lucky when he realized it. If Eleanor hadn't been anxious to get rid of him because of the thousands of dollars in mobile phone money, Noah would waste a lot of money on her with his current worth. And they would call him an i***t behind his back. Noah took out a tissue and wiped the coffee on his hands. At the same time, the saleswoman came back with two mobile phones that Noah had chosen and put them before him respectfully. "Do you need me to explain the main functions of our Vertu phone in detail?" The saleswoman said with a bright smile. She had a hunch she might be reaching the pinnacle of her life. In fact, Leah Louis was only 20 years old. Before graduating from university, she chose to work in the Vertu mobile phone industry as a salesperson because she thought she could meet high-level people. So she had some thoughts on Noah, an invisible rich man. Noah did not disappoint her. With Leah's careful introduction, as Noah inserted the card into the new phone and was about to store her phone number, an extremely discordant voice suddenly sounded behind him. "Hey, isn't this Noah? Instead of working at McDonald's, do you find a job here?" Wyatt swaggered towards Noah with Eleanor in his arms, not hiding the sarcasm. "Noah, I really didn't expect you to be so unpromising. You will be graduating and still working part-time. How can you make it worth your parents, who farm in the countryside?" Eleanor hugged his shoulders with the unopened iPhone in her arms. Noah frowned. He didn't actively question Eleanor because he couldn't bear it. After all, he got a conscience. But he overestimated his position in Eleanor's heart. He regarded Eleanor as his first love. But Eleanor considered him as a dog that she could summon. "I'm here to buy a mobile phone." Noah had decided he would not have any interaction with this kind of person, so he didn't bother to waste his breath. Eleanor was stunned. Noah, a loser who would do anything she said and satisfy her with any unreasonable request, didn't even ask her why she was in Wyatt's arms. And he pretended to be indifferent. It was unacceptable to the proud Eleanor. "Noah. Did you follow us?" Eleanor looked at Noah again with suspicion. "I didn't realize that. Noah, you are not only poor, but you're a peeper. You deliberately followed Wyatt and me here today. Do you want to take this opportunity to extort money from Wyatt?" Wyatt hugged Eleanor with a smile and took the LV wallet from his arms. "Twenty or forty dollars? I don't have any less change. My dad always gives me at least 600 dollars when I go out. But you can't earn that much by working part-time for a month, right?" Money? Noah sneered in his heart when he heard that. He clearly remembered Wyatt's father started his business by building a few houses with property rights through the real estate boom in the past few years. And he was worth tens of millions. It was precise because Wyatt's family was rich. He ignored his classmates at school. He was mean and always felt he was superior to others. Before, Noah would sulk. But now, he argued with them. "I've got legs. I can go wherever I like." "And this is a shopping mall, not your home. Don't show me your superiority." "If you are unsatisfied, you can buy this shopping mall, and I don't care." Noah said lightly. If it weren't for saving face, he would have said, "I've got 20 million pocket money. Your father's property is nothing." Seeing a loser like Noah dare to attack him, Wyatt was naturally very angry. He immediately wanted to argue with Noah. However, Eleanor stopped him. Eleanor pointed to Leah, sitting next to Noah, and said, "Is this your employee? Do you know who my boyfriend's father is? You kick him out right now, or you'll be sorry!" "I'm sorry. Mr. Lopez is a distinguished customer in our store, not an employee." Leah said with a gentle smile. "Distinguished customer?" Wyatt was stunned and then laughed. "Are you kidding? This loser is your distinguished customer? He can't even afford the cheapest iPhone, yet you still treat him as a distinguished customer. Be careful. He could be a freeloader before you realize it." "This gentleman has already paid forty-eight thousand for two mobile phones." Leah said lightly. While they were talking, Leah was looking at Wyatt. She concluded that Wyatt was rich, but Noah was wealthier than he. After all, she could tell Noah's supreme black card would kick the rich man Wyatt's ass at his brand-name clothes. "Forget it. Don't mind him. Maybe he bought the saleswoman and acted in front of us. I know how much money he has. A poor farmer. Play cool?" Eleanor looked at Noah disgustingly, took Wyatt's hand, and walked downstairs. Noah put Leah's phone number in the new phone and then quickly dialed a number. Noah heard Eleanor's voice from a distance, "Wyatt, don't be angry. I never let Noah hold my hands in the past two years. He must be stimulated today. You've got many chances to deal with him..." Noah felt funny. Since when Eleanor became so caring and proactive? It was new to Noah. Soon, the call was connected. "Noah, you finally called. Are you okay? How are you? Have you been discharged?" An older man sounded concerned on the phone. Noah felt sad. His adoptive parents and biological parents were about the same age. But they had been working in the fields all year round, they looked no different from the elderly in their 60 or 70, even though they were not yet 50 years old this year. "Yeah. I'm fine. Are you coming to Southside?" The man on the phone was silent for a moment and said, "Don't you really blame us? You should have lived a wealthy life with no worries since you were a child. But you have suffered so many years in the countryside with us. Fortunately, your biological parents have found you. Otherwise, your mother and I couldn't marry you a wife..." Noah quickly interrupted and said, "Don't say that. Although you aren't rich, you have already given me the best of you. Don't worry. I will always be the son of the Lopez family. I'll keep the family name alive, and you'll have a grandson." "Good. The Wilson family treated us well and arranged a special car to pick us up. We'll be there in a few days. You stay well there and listen to them. The phone bill is quite expensive. We'll talk later. You must listen to your biological parents. Be good." After hanging up the phone, Noah was finally relieved. His biological parents attached great importance to his adoptive parents. After all, no one did anything wrong. It was all about reality. After Evelyn selected the mobile phone, she took Noah to swipe the card to pay. She didn't notice what had happened at the counter and thought Noah had met two classmates. Then, she took Noah to the fourth floor to choose a casual outfit. It was true that beautiful girls always had a better eye than ordinary people. Even though Noah didn't choose famous brands, he got more temperament after Evelyn picked out simple clothes. They agreed on a time and said goodbye at the entrance of the building. Evelyn returned to the hospital in the nursing car while Noah was about to ride a bicycle to school. Although Noah had nearly 20 million dollars, he didn't have any cash. He unlocked a bicycle. Just when Noah was about to leave, a black Land Rover Evoque stopped in front of him domineeringly. "Hey, isn't this Mr. Lopez who just spent 48 thousand on a mobile phone? Ride to school by yourself on such a hot day?" The window of the Land Rover slowly fell, revealing Wyatt's gloating face. Noah raised his head and glanced at him. He had been polite enough, but I didn't expect him to be so aggressive. "Could it be that the driver asked for leave today, and you don't have a driver's license?" Wyatt looked at Noah condescendingly. "If it weren't for Eleanor's reminder, he could have fooled me," thought Wyatt. "So?" Noah asked suspiciously. "So..." Wyatt choked for a moment. "Wyatt. Don't waste your breath. The LV shop will be closed any later." Eleanor's impatient voice came from the car. "I told you he had no future at all. This is disgusting. I must be blind before." After showing off their superiority, they closed the car windows, with the Land Rover Evoque leaving. Noah wasn't angry. His money was more than all of Wyatt's father's assets combined, and it was all in cash. Mr. Smith was right that being polite to a god was not shameful when the dog blocked the way. After figuring this out, Noah cheerfully rode his bicycle and rushed to school. There were few courses in year four. As long as two months of modern history were completed, the students could leave the school. Noah felt something was wrong when he returned to the dormitory. Chadwick wore big underpants, sitting on the upper bunk and looking out the window with blurred eyes. Ferris wore a vest, sitting on a chair with a cigarette in his mouth. Alfie wore sandals, standing on the balcony with a frown, with a lonely back. Seeing Noah come back, they looked at each other and looked embarrassed. "What's wrong?" Noah closed the door in a daze. "Fail the game? Or someone stole your girlfriend?" Chadwick glanced at him resentfully, "Noah, what did you do this morning?" "I've got relatives from my hometown. I went to the train station to pick them up, and we had a meal together. So I came late. What happened?" Noah didn't want to tell his roommate about his biological parents. After all, he hadn't figured it out well. Chadwick sighed, turned to Ferris, and said, "Tell him." Ferris looked at Noah, "Have you seen Eleanor today?" Noah nodded, "Yeah. What happened?" Ferris took a deep breath of the cigarette and said to Alfie, "You go." Alfie stood on the balcony, pointing to a pot of green vines on the windowsill. "Noah, look at these green vines. How green they are."
