CHAPTER 7 The air showThe day of the air show came at last. Jules would be able to take his mind off things after unearthing so many new twists and turns.
Howlingdeadman was seething with excitement and the whole town had been beautifully decorated for the event. Strings of pennants, banners and French flags were hanging all over the town. Hundreds of gaily coloured flowers brightened the streets.
The mayor had successfully managed to get some of the most famous aviators of the time – Roland Garros and a native of these parts, Félix Barbazanze.
For the occasion, a huge field next to the town park had been turned into an airfield to welcome the two aviation pioneers.
The neighbouring villages had also been invited to the great event.
