Elira's POV My eyes jolted open with sweats dripping down my body. I jerked up from the bed, and my face crumbled in confusion. My head suddenly throbbed in pain, leaving me numb and shaking. “Aahh!” I winced in pain and held my head in both my hands. “Princess Avelyn!” The door to the room slammed open, and a girl about the same age as me jumped into the room. “Uhnn?” I answered her subtly, and her mouth twisted into a cry. “You are finally awake, thanks to the moon goddess. I will have the palace guards inform you about the Alpha King right away.” She turned around to leave. “Wait a minute!” I called for her, and she turned back. “What happened?” I asked her, and she quickly closed the door behind her. She sat down with me and suddenly pulled me into a hug. My eyes widened with shock, but I hugged her back. I needed to play along before I understood what was happening. “You suddenly fell down during the full moon three days ago. You have been unconscious ever since. Everyone is worried about you, Princess Avelyn,” she explained. “Avelyn? Princess?” I asked her with my palm on my chest, and she nodded her head. “Oh my goodness!” The girl gaped and stood up from the bed and placed her palm on her mouth. “Did you hit your head when you fell?” She took my hand and looked into my eyes. “We should call the Royal doctor. You seem to have lost your memory.” Her voice cracked into sobs, and I shook my head. “No! No!! It's nothing like that. I'm perfectly fine, I just felt a little bit dizzy.” I lied. I need to remember something before trusting anyone. I have no idea who she is or where I am. Princess Avelyn? Who the heck is that? “You can go ahead and inform my father. I'm sure he's worried sick about me as we speak,” I said to her, and she nodded her head. “Yes! I will get him right away.” I managed to convince her, and she ran off with excitement. As soon as she was gone. I walked out of bed and made way to the window. The curtains were drawn, so I looked down the window. My eyes fell on the numerous people dressed up in the same uniform. They were men and also armed. Guards… My mind immediately registered that I saw another group of people dressed in a different uniform. “Those must be the maids. Is this really a palace? What am I doing here? I need to leave here as soon as possible.” I murmured. The standing mirror at the end of the room caught my attention, and I quickly ran towards it. I trailed my fingers down my face. I might not remember who I am, but this doesn't feel right. “I simply don't belong here.” I scanned my body, and I put on a night gown. “I need to change into something else,” I concluded and paced around the room thinking of what to do. My eyes fell on the entrance of what seemed to be the entrance of another room. I entered inside, and it was a closet filled with clothes and accessories. “Wow! Whoever this girl is indeed a princess.” I concurred and stood there for a while, admiring the beauty of the closet. “What am I still doing here?” I quickly regained myself and searched throughout for something comfortable to wear. I'm trying to escape. The last thing I should be wearing is something catchy. “This should do.” I selected a knee-length floral gown. I changed into a gown and packed my straight silky hair into a bun. Anything to help me look different. I tiptoed into the room. And when I was sure that girl was nowhere close, I opened the door to the room. “Avelyn!” A tall middle-aged man towered over me. My eyes widened twice, seeing about five people at the entrance of the door all at once. The man stared at me with affection and worry in his eyes. A woman stood beside him carrying the same demeanor, as well as the girl that was there not quite long. There were two armed men dressed in a different uniform behind them. They both carried swords, and one of them was holding something that looked like a staff rod. The man in particular carried a strong masculine and authoritative aura. His dressing also gave him away. This must be Avelyns' father, the Alpha King. “Father,” I jumped into his arms and wrapped my arms around him. “Oh my goodness, child. What happened to you? Your mother and I, as well as the entire Kingdom, were all worried about you.” The alpha king spoke subtly as he patted my back. He took my hands gently and took me back into my room. “Yes Avelyn. You gave us quite the scare,” the woman, who seemed to be Avelyn's mother, said. “I was worried I would have stretched you too much because of the coming fight,” The Alpha King said, and my pulpills dilated on the spot. “Fight!” I exclaimed.
